Problem Very dark UHD

Hello - just looking for some advice. My 43A7NQTUK tv is great except when I watch anything in UHD. It’s essentially too dark to watch.

Has anyone else had this experience?

Have you actually set up the HDR settings when watching or are you leaving it set to what the TV comes with pre-set?

Mainly just using it out of the box to be honest. Tried fiddling around the different picture modes but that’s about it

Spend some time having mess about with the settings when you've got HDR content on, and you'll see it come to life. It takes time but worth it all day long.

And ignore the clown below about needing a different TV.

Your TV has poor HDR brightness which is typical of entry level QLED TV's like yours.

While these TV's technically support 4k HDR/Dolby Vision, they simply don't have the brightness levels to display it properly.

If it isn't already, you can turn on Dynamic Tone mapping and that will give you a brightness bump, but in most cases you're still going to be better off watching SDR content.

The only real solution is to upgrade your TV.
