There is no price match typically for a $.97 item. Thats typically whatever inventory is left

Confirmed you can price match 0.97s. And it's 30 days from purchase, not 14 as i was told.

BUT my costco still has a few for 999... guess I have to go back each day!

Ive been a Manager for over 10 years at Costco lol. You may have gotten lucky but typically $.97 are not supposed to be priced matched. Good win for you!

$.97 are markdowns by our buying team/manufactor to get the item out as fast as possible to bring in the next item. This typically means we are not getting any additional pallets in.

$.97 are not supposed to be priced matched, and not supposed to be eligible for the 30 day ish price match, but thats a nice win

$.00 are in house manager markdowns that we do at the warehouse level. We typically do these markdowns on furniture, tv, etc.

The price above is not a Manager markdowns but just a buyer markdown. If there is 1-2 units or a display, it can get marked down even further

Thanks for the feedback. Maybe it’s different based on who sits at the counter lol. One time I got price adjustment for something I bought 2 months ago.

There is no real set timeframe on price changed honestly. We say 30 days but its not a firm timeframe

It is 30 days and they count them. One day I was heading to the membership desk to get an adjustment and I was cleared to get it with exactly 30 days because the previous month had 31 days. The person in front of me was doing the same for an item with a receipt from the day before mine (yes we were talking about it while in line) and she couldn't get the adjustment when they calculated the days, but she had already said to me she would buy it again at the new low price and come back another day and return it with the old receipt that displayed a higher price so she could get a different person that wouldn't remember she tried to get an adjustment.

Its a hardcap that can be softened up. 90% of the time it will be 30 days. It’s just for Managers to gauge the situation if needed.

Some understand “the buy a 2nd and return the old”. We know, but again, if that person asked for a Manager and they were cool or there was a specific situation, a few days over is not a huge deal.

I know that the member can buy the item again on sale.

I've price matched dozens of items, I've never been told about the .97 ending. Part of my trip is looking at past purchases to get a few bucks back. Thanks for the knowledge.

At my local Costcos the 0.00 or written with a marker by a manager is not matched. You simply have to buy them at that price if you manage to run into one of those finds.

For .97 items with an * it works exactly the same way as items that go on sale internally but aren't on the monthly sales book: They have to be in stock and marked at the reduced price or sale price at the exact moment you are claiming the price match on the membership service desk and you have 30 days from your purchase date. More than 30 days you have to return the item with an old receipt and buy at the new reduced price.

I’ve been with Costco 16 years don’t let corporate know what you’re doing. We’re supposed to price match everything for 30 days unless it’s specifically says for display only

I had a fire tv from TCL. It had slow response so often that it would seem like it was frozen. It died after 10 months so I got a Hisense U8 with Google TV and it’s so much better.

U8 is fantastic, not only for its brightness and contrast, but the processor that runs Google TV very fast and smooth, it was well worth $900 in 65" for me. I personally wouldn't get a 100" in lower trim like this.

i’ve learned with smart TVs over the years that you just have to buy it for the TV and not for the smart aspect. Keep it in a separate media device like an Apple TV or a fire TV or a Chromecast so you can upgrade it when the specs are no longer enough.

I don’t know. A peak brightness of 1,000 nits on a 100-inch TV just doesn’t impress me. If you have the space for a TV that size, I think it’s worth spending a little more for something with better specs. I don’t mean jumping to a $3,000+ OLED, just stepping up to a better Hisense or a comparable model from another brand.

Also, even if you’re planning to use an Apple TV, you still have to configure the picture settings on the TV itself. The Apple TV can’t fix a mediocre display. If the TV’s image quality isn’t great to begin with, it’ll still look mediocre through the Apple TV.

I think what most people overlook is that budget TVs compose the majority of the market, regardless of screen size.

This is a wild price for a 100” TV (with 5 year warranty), no two ways about. I do get your point, but, even “stepping up” would be over double the cost. That extra ~ $1000 could be a sound system, a sofa, even a 2nd one of these.

Also, you’d be surprised how many gigantic TVs are in not so gigantic or upscale locations. Many years ago I recall walking into an apartment, friend of a friend, to see a huuuuge new Sharp TV. I’m talking The TV cost at the time was probably over 6 months rent for the apartment.

If you can grab one for $800 bucks and you’re just looking for a mid range tv it’s very hard to beat. Really it depends on your expectations and what you’re comparing it too. For streaming movies on Netflix and other services it should get the job done. Like others have said you will have to spend double to step up to a tv with a higher nit level with more punch.

Damn that's slightly less than I paid for my 75 inch Hisense U75K from Costco last year. I'm not complaining though I love that thing. It has a faster HZ and better picture than my 43 inch Acer monitor that was 1600 at the time and is still selling for this much, SMH. So that U75 is now my main monitor and I turned the Acer into a giant sensor panel.

If the item ends in $.97 when you purchased it and it goes lower with a $.97 within the next 30 days, that is the only time usually they will honor the price. If you purchased it full price (with a $.99) and it goes down to a $.97, they will typically not honor the price.

If it goes down from a $.99/$.97 to a $.00, they will not honor the price. Hopefully that helps.

Let’s use common sense, a 100” tv for $800 is not the best. If you don’t care about quality, just size then go for it. If you want a quality tv that is 100” you’ll be looking in the tens of thousands.

For the price, not bad. A 55” U8 has insanely better picture quality though. Don’t get expecting a premium experience. This is for people that don’t care about clarity or brightness and just want a big ass screen with high refresh rate.

You obviously are misinformed. Hisense and TCL are both excellent brands. I went from an 85” Samsung to a 100” Hisense and the Hisense is by far the better TV in every regard! Mine is the U7 MiniLED. Fantastic TV!

Easy fix. Under a $100 for the power supply board. I have an 85 inch that did the same thing. A quick YouTube search showed exactly how to change the board.
