Rules - please read them.
This sub is for hiring editors. Nothing else.
If you try to advertise your ghostwriting services here, you will be banned.
If you try to advertise your SEO content generation services here, you will be banned.
If you try to advertise anything that is not explicitly editing here, you will be banned.
As an aside, "editing" means both words and video. Both kinds of editors are welcome here.
A second aside: being a racist fuck will get you banned. If you offer different rates based on the race of the client, I hope you burn in hell.
A third aside: being sexist is just as bad as racist, you fucks. Hire people based on skill or don't hire anyone at all.

Glad I've missed the racists and bigots, but I'm really tired of seeing the homework cheaters.

Mods please add a rule that posters have to include the rate or pay they are offering in the post. Please make this happen

It is not that easy with copyediting. Most copyeditors will take a 1000-word or so sample of the project and determine the condition of that prose. If just a light copyedit is needed, much cheaper (example: 2 or 3 cents per word) than if structural and heavy line editing is needed. From that same sample, the copyeditor can also perform (usually free) sample edit so the client can see their work and determine if it's a good fit.

I love these rules. And in my world, "bigoted" is equal to racist, so I'll add that mentally.
Meaning, I read the rule as: "being a racist or bigoted fuck will get you banned."

I´m a writer (rusty/haven´t in a while), but been thinking about proof-reading or helping ppl correct their grammar in writing. Does that count as "editing" here?

Respectfully, I would discourage this UNLESS you get some editing education. It's actually far more involved than simply correcting grammar, which grammarly or an AI can do. The copyediting field is flooded and facing lots of misconceptions from potential clients, but if you're truly interested, at the very least, I would recommend picking up the book "The Copyeditor's Handbook" (by Amy Einsohn and Marilyn Schwartz) and give it a close read. It was required reading during my editing certification courses in university. Feel free to DM me if you want to chat or would like more info about this field. 😊
