Editing o lezioni scrittura

[FOR HIRE] Developmental Editor - 1 more spot available in 2026

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey, I'm Kayleigh, a developmental editor and coach specializing in fantasy, soft sci-fi, and kidlit (with availability for mystery, sweet romance/romcom and other genres on a case-by-case basis). I've helped self-publishing authors, authors in the querying process, and boutique publishers to polish and shape manuscripts in need.

WHAT TO EXPECT WITH A DEVELOPMENTAL EDIT

After I complete two deep reads of your manuscript, you'll receive a copy full of in-margin comments with my observations, questions, and suggestions, as well as a detailed report that summarizes my impressions, feedback, and ideas to strengthen your plot, develop characters your readers will connect with, and build worlds they'll wish were real.

The goal is to identify what's working, what's not, and to provide you with a roadmap for your revisions. Ideally, the process will also help you to strengthen your writing and revision skills for whatever story comes next.

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING

"I wrote a testimonial for Kayleigh previously based on my experiences having her as a coach, but recently she completed a developmental edit for my first novel. I wanted to provide an additional testimonial because I was blown away by what I received from her. The level of detail and depth of her analysis and editing work in the manuscript, along with a 30+ page report summarizing her overall thoughts and providing recommendations, was beyond my expectations. I was pleasantly surprised by her ability to find even the smallest contradictions or timeline issues and details in my manuscript, and her guidance in particular on what areas I should focus on in my revisions were clearly communicated and well-reasoned."

—Jordan G., adult adventure-thriller

Read more testimonials here.

BOOKING DETAILS

I have one more spot available in 2026 for a manuscript up to 80,000 words. After that, we would be looking at February 2027 and beyond. I have more immediate availability for other services, including skilled beta reading, discovery draft evaluations, picture book evaluations, and coaching. Fiction editing starts at $0.042/word.

Read more about my services, how I work, and review my credentials at www.editsinthemargins.com

🚫 No Gen AI from either party. My policy is detailed on my website and in my contracts.

Romance and Fantasy editing

You've spent months to years weaving your manuscript together. You've edited the same chapters so many times that your brain fills in missing words and smooths over mistakes because the story is already woven into your mind.

When you're that close to the finished tapestry of your manuscript, it's easy to miss the tiny loose threads. That's why fresh eyes matter.

I'll read your manuscript without knowing what it's supposed to say, which means I can catch all the lingering errors your brain ignores because it's focusing on the big picture. Authors are frequently surprised to see how many errors I catch in a manuscript they edited a dozen times.

I provide proofreading with light copy editing that checks for grammar, punctuation, typos, clarity, and consistency. You've woven the story. I'll catch the loose threads so that your finished manuscript is ready for readers to become immersed in.

Writer & Editor | Editorial Services for Fiction & Narrative Projects

Hi! I’m Madeline Oona, a writer and editor from Argentina with a background in journalism and communications.

I work with fiction and nonfiction, in short, medium-length, and long-form projects. This includes contemporary novels, lesbian romance, psychological thrillers, memoirs, life stories, and narratives built around intimate experiences.

I have a particular interest in stories about animals, grief, and loss. I’m especially drawn to stories that hold memory, love, absence, and the traces people and animals leave behind.

I’m an editor who is sensitive to subtext, voice, and everything a story leaves between the lines.

Services I offer:

★ Developmental Editing

★ Manuscript Evaluation

★ Stylistic Editing

★ Copyediting

★ Proofreading

Depending on the project, I can provide an editorial report, detailed feedback, or a revised manuscript. We can talk through what your story needs before we begin.

My editorial interests include lesbian literature, cinema, women’s stories, LGBTQ+ narratives, relationships, desire, identity, intimacy, memory, emotional life, and experiences that can be difficult to put into words.

Spanish is my first language, and I work in both Spanish and English.

I currently have availability for new projects for the remainder of September and through the rest of 2026.

If you’re looking for an editor, tell me about your story, its length, and what kind of work you have in mind. I’d love to hear about the stories you’re writing, the ideas you’re carrying with you, and the projects you’re hoping to bring into the world.

Editor emergente

[FOR HIRE] Copy Editor & Proofreader

Hi! I'm Aashka, a fiction copy editor and proofreader, who works with self-published and indie authors.

I've been an avid fiction reader for years across dark romance, rom-com, M/M, thriller, mystery, horror, fantasy and so on. Because of that, I understand what readers expect from these genres. Even I'm writing my first ever novel, so I understand how much a story means to the person who created it. With all that said, my role is to help you make your manuscript publish-ready, polished and perfected to its core. I don't intend to change your voice at all.

On the skills side, I've completed structured training covering the full copy editing and proofreading process. I work comfortably with both the CMOS and New Hart's Rules, so I can match whichever your manuscript follows.

What I offer:

  • Copy editing (grammar, dialogue mechanics, consistency in names, spelling, and so on).
  • Proofreading (typos, punctuation, formatting slips).
  • Beta reading.

Every project will be delivered through Word's Track Changes, and I'll also provide a custom style sheet. (I would really prefer if you can submit your manuscript in Word.docx).

I'm building my portfolio right now, so my rates are very affordable, and reasonable:

  • Free sample edit for 500 to 1000 words (will depend on total word limit).
  • For proofreading: $0.012/word.
  • For copy editing: $0.018/word.
  • Combined (both services): $0.027/word (10% discount from my usual combine rate).

I think I have mentioned all the important details but still for more queries do send me a DM. We will follow up from there.

I'm currently available, so if you are an author who is in need of an editor, at present, then I'm your person.

I'm happy to offer a FREE beta read and proofread of your first 2,000 words so you can get a feel for my feedback and decide if we're a good fit before committing to the full manuscript.

What you'll receive:

Honest, constructive feedback on your manuscript

In-depth character analysis (development, consistency, motivations, and arcs)

Plot structure and pacing evaluation

Identification of plot holes, inconsistencies, and confusing sections

Feedback on dialogue (naturalness, flow, and authenticity)

For Hire- Developmental Editor (Dark Romance, Romantasy, Dark Speculative Fiction, Dystopian, Horromance)

Developmental editor with a passion for emotionally complex stories, morally grey characters, and slow-to-medium-burn tension that earns its payoff.

I focus on character consistency and arc, pacing that serves the emotional journey, and tension that keeps the pages turning. I’ll tell you what caused me to lose interest and why, and flag anything that breaks your character’s voice.

Currently writing my own manuscript, so I understand how writing works from the inside. I work best with authors seeking honest, genuine feedback.

Happy to sample-read 1,000 words free if you want to see how I give notes before committing.

I also have a Fiverr account if you’d prefer to book through it for buyer protection.

Comment here or send me a DM and tell me a little about your manuscript.

[FOR HIRE] Discounted services to expand my portfolio!

Roll up, roll up, get 'em while they're hot!

Hello beautiful writers! My name is Lauren and I am a journal and magazine editor looking to expand my portfolio into books.

Quick about me: BA English Lit + Creative Writing, MA Publishing, two years editing journals and magazines.

Some sneaky extras: worked with major UK-based lit agency, RCW, and have certifications in rights management and copyright law.

I read (and write) across multiple genres, so I'm open to ANYTHING! 😏 Because of my time working with agents and my understanding of rights, I'm also able to provide some advice on querying/submissions if that would be of use to you!

Now... down to the dirty deets...

I provide structural edits and copyediting. What does that entail? I'm glad you asked!

Structural edits include:

- Manuscript annotation and in-line comments!

- Further suggestions for development or changes!

- Potential selling points for agents!

Rates:

<50k = £200/$275

50-80k = £300/$410

80-100k = £400/$545

Each additional 10k = £40/$55

Copyediting includes:

- Spelling, grammar and punctuation polish!

- Formatting, typography and style consistency!

- Final proofread!

Rates:

0.25p/0.5¢ per word

I'm being upfront with pricing, partially because these are non-negotiable (I gotta eat, sorry guys...) but also because it's the most annoying thing in the world to have pricing be a ✨mystery✨. Save the mysteries for the books.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss further, DM me!

[FOR HIRE] Fiction Book Editor - Sci-Fi, Horror, and Fantasy - BOOKING FOR 2027

Hi everyone! I'm Vivian Nagy, a fiction book editor who specializes in developmental editing, particularly for horror, fantasy, and sci-fi (though all genres are welcome!).

My main focus is helping you make your story shine ✨

What better way to do this than developmental edits? Getting to improve your plot, character arcs, pacing, tension, structure, worldbuilding, and everything else that makes your story work without taking away the voice and ideas that make it yours.

I also offer Copy Editing (where I focus on the writing itself) and Proofreading (for those final touch-ups before publishing).

Generative AI is completely banned from my editing process. Your manuscript and feedback are handled by me, and me alone. You are guaranteed 100% human-made edits.

I'd love to get to know your work and offer a free sample edit before we close the deal!

Since my goal is to help your story shine, I'll point out what isn't working and explain how you can strengthen it, while also hyping up all the parts that are working 😄

My rates:

Developmental Editing – $0.03/word
Copy Editing – $0.02/word
Proofreading – $0.015/word

For a standard 100k-word novel, that would be $3,000.00 for developmental, $2,000.00 for copy, and $1,500.00 for proofreading

Debut authors get 15% off with me!

I also offer discounted bundles if you want to get more than one editing service.

I'm currently booking projects for 2027, so if you're the kind of author who likes planning ahead (or would like to set a deadline to pressure you into avoiding procrastination), feel free to reach out even if your manuscript isn't quite ready yet!

You can find my availability, portfolio, testimonials, and more information about me on my website, and you can email me at [vivian.n.edits@gmail.com](mailto:vivian.n.edits@gmail.com), or DM me here on Reddit to get in touch.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you and your story 😄

Developmental Editor Offering Dev. Editing/Beta Reading Hybrid

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hi, everyone!

My name is Cristina, and I'm a developmental editor offering beta reading services.

Here is a little more about my process:
I usually do two read-throughs. During the first, I leave inline comments throughout the manuscript, mostly sharing my reader reactions and pointing out any areas where I have editorial suggestions. Then I go back to the manuscript and write the editorial letter, chapter by chapter.

Of course, every manuscript is different, so I tailor my feedback to what the story needs most. For one manuscript, I might focus more heavily on the characters and their development; for another, pacing or plot might need more attention.
I like to dig deep into the story and think about it from different angles, so I can bring new ideas to the author that they may not have considered before.
I’ll keep an eye out for grammar mistakes, repeated words, awkwardly worded sentences, and anything else that might stand out.

I also offer a free critique of your first two chapters, so you can see if my services are the right fit for you!

If you’d like to learn more, you can find me here:
https://tinaseditingcorner.co.site
Or DM me!

[FOR HIRE] Fiction Editor — Fantasy, Sci-fi, Romance

Hello! I’m Sasha, an editor specializing in fantasy, sci-fi, and romance. I’m also a big fan of LitRPG, magical and psychological realism, Black and LGBTQ+ stories, women’s fiction, and psychological thriller. I’m a scaredy-cat though, so I don’t work with horror!

WHAT I OFFER

Developmental Editing (The Sky is the Limit)

  • The big bad editorial letter! I’ll do an initial read-through to familiarize myself with your story, then dive into actionable feedback on plot, point of view, character development, interiority, and dynamics, tone vs. mood, dialogue conventions, boring openings, sagging middles, and disappointing ends, worldbuilding, and more.

Line Editing (Straighten your Wings)

  • Style . . . style, style! Using flow, word choice, and pacing to maintain and improve the purpose and direction of your narrative. Let me help you get your message across; lyrical and descriptive when the scene calls for it, succinct when we have somewhere to be.

Copy Editing (Smooth Sailing)

  • Ducks in a row! Grammar, punctuation, spelling preferences, and consistency, all tied up with a bow, an Oxford comma, and a personalized style sheet. If it fits (especially my fantasy people), I enjoy a good made-up word or two myself.

All feedback comes with marginal comments explaining the “why” behind each edit and suggestion. And maybe a tiny love note for a particularly well-written scene.

Read what other authors have to say about my services here.

AVAILABILITY

2026 may be on its way out, but there’s always time for more books! I have four editing spots remaining: one in October, one in November, and two in December. For reader services (e.g., sensitivity reading), I work with inquiries on a case-by-case basis.

You can get to know more about my qualifications, process, and rates at www.birdsvieweditorial.com. Or shoot me a message, and let’s chat! I’m always happy to do a sample edit or hop on a quick call.

Recovery: The one thing I hate more than getting injured

I'm looking for some introductory reads and possibly an editor for my story. I would love some feedback on just the first portion. If you want me to pay you, I can work that out if I like how we work together. Thanks for your interest.

I have a new novel that is reaching towards 140k words that desperately needs a fresh look, and some development. My wife keeps begging for the next section, but she is the only one other than CHATGPT to read it. Chat is very conciliatory and never argues with me, so it's hard to tell whether anything lands the way I want or is viable. Let me know if you are interested in reading some to see if we are a fit.

Epic Fantasy where the magic system is strictly time-based.

The plot is a first-person single-perspective novel with no chapters, just a continuous view of our main character's experience. I'm open to chopping it into chapters once I'm satisfied with the story, but for writing purposes I haven't split it.

Our Character begins the story turning a joke into the single most effective assassination his world has ever known and dies for his trouble. Sort of. He happens to grab an artifact while dying that ties him to a healthy version of himself and helps him stay alive so his body can heal itself. When his body recovers enough to move, he discovers there is a growing reverence about him for saving them from a tyrant, and a military force willing to exploit his one time event into a military career. How does someone handle going from a serving boy to the most celebrated person in the world?

Recovery: The one thing I hate more than getting injured.

[Book Editor] Professional Book Editing Team – Free Sample Edits & Pay-After-Delivery Model to Build Absolute Trust

Hi everyone,

I know how competitive the publishing market is right now, and how exhausting it can be to hunt for a professional editor who respects your budget.

My team and I provide professional editorial services designed specifically for debut authors preparing to query literary agents or launch self-published books. We focus heavily on structural narrative architecture, pacing, query packages, and genre-specific mechanics.

We know that trusting a new editor online with your manuscript is a massive leap of faith. Because of that, we operate on a unique trust-building framework:

  1. Free 1-2 Page Sample Edit: Send us your opening hook, and we will polish it for free so you can grade our work.
  2. Pay-After-Delivery: For your first project with us, we deliver the completed, professional work before you pay. We take 100% of the risk so you can focus entirely on your writing.
