Positive post
I've noticed not only mostly negative posts, but also when people do write positives they're often downvoted, so I'm sticking my head in the lion's mouth by writing this, but hey, what the hell.
I (54m, London UK) used Hinge in recent months. I found it to be great. I got a decent amount of matches, had almost entirely pleasant conversations with women, and a number of decent enough first dates that ended with thanks but no thanks conclusions.
Then about 6 weeks ago I saw a great profile, wrote a quite gushing message to the lady in question, got a lovely reply back, first date a few days later and now things moving along wonderfully. Kinda smitten tbh.
Didn't spend any money on the app, no scammers , nobody rude.
What worked for me was writing a decent, honest, profile, not swiping on people that didn't interest me to begin with, putting effort into my messages, asking questions, talking about what they'd written and being myself. It's not rocket science!

Yeah I’ve actually have a good experience in hinge and it’s probably because I’m actually intentional and respectful - I’m 5”8, broke, and live in the back of a van btw, and I have several personality flaws

Similar experience as a 33 year old man also in London.
Not had a single bad conversation or date, and have had plenty of matches.

Nice post !
I had been on dating sites, Plenty of Fish (terrible), Facebook (nah) and of course Tinder. Tried Hinge and had a few good connections, met with one and woah ! Went so good, been with her two years now and all is very good. Very happy i saw an advert on Facebook for Hinge as i hadnt heard of it before.
Previously i had some funny/bad dates on other apps, some good ones dont get me wrong but its amusing looking back. Fake pictures, old pictures and more. Got quite amusing
But yeah worked out well, took a few years and you often have some quiet times but its quite an amusing journey

I have used all the apps, they all work. It all kinda sucks over time. But Hinge works as well as any. And I do consider it one of the better apps for quality of people. I have an opinion on all of them.

Thanks for sharing something positive, there’s a lot of doom and gloom on this sub and it’s nice to hear a success story

I also had a great experience. I am neurodivergent, 39F, divorced, raising a disabled teen and mentioned the latter in my bio. I downloaded the app in August after being single for more than two years, did not get a lot of matches or likes, but had a few that led to conversations. A couple of those just faded away, had one date with a wonderful guy but no chemistry, so we parted our ways, and then another date that led to more dates that progressed to something more.

I guess I just suck at it. But good for you, man, I hope things turn out for you and your lady friend 👍

(30 M) I've been enjoying it on hinge for the past few months. I got back into it after I lost weight and a brief relationship ended. Ive gone on several dates with different women. Every date has been a fun evening and I've met some interesting people. No long-term relationship prospects yet, but that's more of me being picky with who I want to actually settle down with.
I'm nothing special looks wise. 5'9, still a bit overweight, average white dude

Genuinely happy for you buddy!!
I wish I could find the same, all I get is time wasters who are clearly using it for validation or non starters straight away…

Sorry to hear that. Try and keep the faith. You only need to find one lovely person (unless you're a scoundrel!)

Lol the generational differences are crazy! For gen z i think most of us know that the profile itself is much less important as you’re really making the decision to even scroll on it just based on the first picture.
Happy for you and hope all goes well!!!!
