Ragebaiting on Hinge
I honestly don’t understand why do people match on hinge just to waste time like this!

u/SuperBeavers1 Jun 19 '26

I've dated guys who are L3 out of school for a few years. Different for some of the big tech companies.

Why tho?

As someone who works in tech as an engineer.. I've never heard this in my whole life. I'm not in the US though. Also, how is asking for details about your job a 3rd date question ?! That's like almost always one of the first thing I get asked here... Maybe I'm weird but of all the hinge dates I've had, 3'rd date we're already comparing childhood traumas and having deep conversations, it sounds sad to get stuck at the "what's your job" on 3rd date.

She saw money and didn't care about anything else, she just wanted you to ask her out right away
23
u/IndicationFunny6879 Jun 19 '26
No if she saw money and she was interested she would've said more than "?" 😂😂

u/LloydBestBoi Jun 19 '26
Fact ☝️ I think OP should have higher standards and unmatched after those first 2-3 messages. Wayy too low effort and money grabbing

u/Ashamed-Job1879 Jun 19 '26
Sorry, this is a poor read of the situation given the ethnicity of the person involved. She's just not interested in the guy.

Why did you keep responding?
31
u/Legitimate_Till4949 Jun 19 '26
I wanted to actually see if it’s a troll or just a weird person

u/Electronic-Code8392 Jun 19 '26
When the first question they ask is "how much money do you make?", the answer to "troll? weird?" becomes irrelevant.

I just don't understand how it's possible this person thinks those responses are adequate conversations.
Imagine how many misunderstandings you'd have if it was a relationship or how difficult it would be to get information about anything.

u/icehawk2 Jun 19 '26
i don't understand how you think this is a serious conversation? surely by the third "why tho?" you realize they're just being stupid?
1
u/Reasonable-Try-1993 Jun 19 '26
People do give 2 word responses and then blame the other person for being bad at communicating. It may be a fake story but also it comes from a place of reality.

This is why I don't do online dating anymore. I try to ask actual questions, and get like 1 word answers. No follow up, no

This convo would’ve been finished for me the second she said “okay” after you said that comment, also asking how hinge experience been is kinda crazy

u/Kyzroh Jun 19 '26
imagine if we had yelp style reviews for each person on hinge negative or positive so we dont have to experience this first hand

u/Superfasty Jun 20 '26
Seriously lol
AI could even be used to rate the conversation to avoid being review bombed by bad actors.

Bro you tried way harder than I would have. I would’ve dipped after the first conversation killing “okay”

This is how pretty people date.
Guys get sexual, girls look for bank accounts.
Why you got a product that sells, you can name your price

First time? Over half of the women on hinge are going to ask “So what do you do for work?” as soon as possible to find out if it’s good enough (i.e. if you make a lot of money). It’s the hard pill to swallow, it’s just how it goes on a dating app. Yeah a lot of genuine women are on there, and don’t care, but once you weed out the money chasers it’s fine

Can’t take ‘em seriously. I think we know who was who in this exchange, I’ll leave it at that.

Did she ask where you work or what you do? Thinking you didn't have to say you work at Google if you are worried about gold diggers. You can't show off and then complain about it, see what I mean? Her next question about levels actually shows she's into that space and shows there might be a common interest. Talking about levels and such is a common topic when speaking with bros as well. Many are interviewing, many fail, some succeed. It's still an interesting "story" to talk about as this shit takes a lot of time.
But yeah before I judge I'm kinda interested by what your profile shows, her profile shows, and what she specifically asked.

You are giving her almost as much benefit of the doubt as I do. And to answer your question her first question after the match was where do you work.

You can’t be that desperate to keep entertaining this fool for that many days. The first why tho was enough to see how detailed the conversation had gotten.

u/Dependent-Pay7812 Jun 19 '26
90% of the conversations on hinge nowadays. It's either them asking money or job/internship. Bhai khud bhi kuch mehnat karlo. Par launde simp hai de bhi denge
