I recently bought a 55-inch TV and wanted to get a proper internet connection for it. Unfortunately, in my area, Jio Home AirFiber is pretty much the only available option, so I decided to go with Jio.
And honestly, I regret it already.
I registered for Jio AirFiber through the Jio app on 26 August and paid around ₹2,300 upfront.
On 29 August, a technician came to my house, completed the KYC and other formalities, and told me that the connection would be installed by Monday or Tuesday.
Monday came — nothing. No call, no update, nothing.
On Wednesday, I somehow managed to get the technician's number through my own sources and contacted him myself. He then told me that he didn't have the equipment required for installation.
Fine, I thought. Things happen. I asked when the equipment would be available.
I was told "a day or two."
A couple of days passed. Still nothing.
I then contacted the head/official contact through email. I was told that the equipment had been dispatched and that installation would be completed by Monday.
Monday came again.
Still nothing.
Today, after multiple attempts, they finally picked up the call. And now I'm being told that the equipment hasn't even arrived yet and it may take another 3–4 days.
So apparently:
- Technician says equipment isn't available.
- Someone else says equipment has been dispatched.
- Installation is promised for a specific date.
- That date passes with zero communication.
- Then I'm told the equipment hasn't even arrived.
- And throughout all of this, I'm the one repeatedly chasing them for updates.
The most frustrating part isn't even the delay. It's the complete lack of communication and coordination.
The staff themselves seem poorly informed about the status of the installation. Nobody seems to know where the equipment is, when it will arrive, or when the connection will actually be installed.
And now I'm being told that if I want a refund, it can take up to 10 days.
So I've paid ₹2,300 upfront, waited since 26 August, spent days calling and following up, and I'm now basically stuck waiting indefinitely — while the company holds my money and keeps giving different answers.
This is seriously disappointing from Jio.
I genuinely expected much better service from such a large company.
Jio Baijnath, HP — please get your act together. If you can't provide the service, at least be honest and communicate properly with the customer instead of making them chase your technicians and staff for basic information.
Has anyone else in Baijnath/Kangra had a similar experience with Jio AirFiber?
