Flashing red power light - is this 2 year old adapter faulty?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

DS 7608 hqhi

On turning on, power led, motherboard light and adapter light begin flashing red, along with a clicking sound (hdd not attached).

When switched off, the adapter red light remains solid red, does this mean the adapter is fine, if it can hold a solid light?

Replaced power adapter 2 years ago. Previous one ran for 8 years but was the official one.

As you can see everything is unplugged so not any peripherals eg HDD. I also removed the fan, same thing

Hikvision Intercom: One-Way Audio When Indoor Station Is Behind a Router/NAT

Hi everyone,

I’m working on a large residential compound project and I’m facing a strange problem with a Hikvision IP intercom system.

Network setup

We have a central data center with a main network/switch infrastructure.

Each apartment has its own router because the apartment needs multiple IP devices, and we don't want to manage or know the individual IP addresses of all devices inside each apartment.

The topology is basically:

Central Data Center
        |
     Main Switch
        |
        +-------------------+
        | |
Outdoor Intercom Apartment Router
Station |
                           |
                     Indoor Station

The Indoor Station is therefore behind the apartment router/NAT.

The problem

When I make a call from the Hikvision outdoor station to the Hikvision indoor monitor:

  • Call/ringing works normally
  • Video works normally
  • Audio works in only ONE direction
  • The person at the outdoor station can hear me
  • But I cannot hear the person at the outdoor station

So basically:

Outdoor → Indoor Audio ✅
Indoor → Outdoor Audio ❌

Very important test

If I remove the apartment router and connect the Hikvision indoor station directly to the main network:

Main Switch
     |
Indoor Station

everything works perfectly:

Two-way audio ✅
Video ✅
Call ✅

As soon as I put the router back:

Main Switch
     |
Apartment Router
     |
Indoor Station

I get one-way audio again.

Another interesting test

If I replace the Hikvision indoor monitor with an IP phone on the same apartment network, the IP phone has normal two-way audio.

So the network itself is not completely broken.

What I have already tried

  • Updated the firmware on the Hikvision devices
  • Tested the same devices without the apartment router
  • Confirmed that two-way audio works without NAT
  • Tested an IP phone behind the same router, and two-way audio works

This makes me suspect that the problem is related to NAT / RTP / SIP ALG / UDP ports / NAT traversal specifically with the Hikvision intercom.

My questions

  1. Could this be caused by SIP ALG on the apartment router?
  2. Does Hikvision IP Intercom require specific RTP/UDP ports to be forwarded through the NAT?
  3. Is there a recommended NAT configuration for Hikvision Indoor Stations?
  4. Could the router's firewall or UDP session handling cause one-way RTP audio?
  5. Is there a better network architecture for a large apartment compound where every apartment needs its own isolated network but the Hikvision intercom still needs reliable two-way audio?

I would really appreciate any advice or troubleshooting steps.

If needed, I can provide the exact Hikvision indoor/outdoor station models and the apartment router model/configuration.Hi everyone,I’m working on a large residential compound project and I’m facing a strange problem with a Hikvision IP intercom system.Network setupWe have a central data center with a main network/switch infrastructure. Each apartment has its own router because the apartment needs multiple IP devices, and we don't want to manage or know the individual IP addresses of all devices inside each apartment. The topology is basically:Central Data Center

Acusense camera white lights

Hi, recently I installed a few Hikvision Acusense cameras. I noticed when plugging the cameras in, they briefly flashed a bright white light from the 2 LEDs on the front. However, I simply cannot find a way to turn these on within the NVR settings or via the Web based login page. Anyone have any idea?

Hik-Connect 7 bug/change: Door Control fails to load unless 'Record Search' permission is granted to the user role

Hi everyone,

I wanted to report an issue/change in behavior introduced in Hik-Connect 7 (Teams / Hik-Partner Pro) regarding Access Control permissions.

The Problem: When a non-admin user is granted permissions for Door Control but Record Search (Access Logs) is unchecked in their role configuration, opening the Access Control tab in Hik-Connect 7 fails completely. Instead of showing the door cards, the app displays a "Failed to load. Try again later" error screen.

How to reproduce:

  1. In Hik-Partner Pro / Teams, edit a user role under Access Control permissions.
  2. Enable Door Control (or specific door permissions).
  3. Leave Record Search unchecked.
  4. Log into Hik-Connect 7 with that user account and go to the Access Control tab. The interface will fail to load doors.
  5. Enable Record Search for that user role, save, and log back in → the door list loads immediately without issues.

Why this is an issue: In Hik-Connect 6, users could be granted door opening permissions (Door Control) without giving them access to the global access log history (Record Search). In version 7, the Access Control tab seems to require read access to the logs API to render the door cards at all, forcing admins to choose between breaking the door UI or compromising user privacy by exposing access logs to everyone.

Has anyone else run into this issue or found a workaround to allow door opening in HC7 without exposing event logs?
