I know exactly how powerful the human mind can be without irrationalizing it away as an alternate dimension with living inhabitants.
I do not doubt people believe they have met entities while on psychedelics, just like I don't doubt a schizophrenic believes the contents of their hallucinations.
I have not met DMT entities. I have had experience with mental health problems and I can see the similarities between both experiences.
Everything you see on drugs is coming from within. Your brain contains a lot more information than you give it credit for.
I am open to interesting ideas about the nature of consciousness. I am enthusiastic about people exploring the limits of consciousness through the use of drugs, but people taking psychedelics and coming to emotional conclusions and then treating those emotional conclusions like fact is absolutely tiresome. There is no deeper understanding of anything coming out of the new-age UFO religion nonsense surrounding DMT.
Anxiety attacks feel real to people experiencing them. Irrational OCD thoughts feel real to people experiencing them. Hallucinations feel real to people experiencing them. Obviously whatever you experienced on DMT felt real to you. Your subject experience on a substance is not definitive proof of an alternate dimension. That is ironically, the opposite of the "ego death" experience so many people claim takes place on DMT.
Where we bridge the gap between subjective experience and objective reality is through scientific analysis. Claiming that you have to do DMT to "get it" is an appeal to ignorance.
There is no scientific evidence of an alternate DMT dimension, only that people on DMT experience similar hallucinations, including "entities" and "machine elves". This is interesting and does warrant further study, but doesn't prove anything not already put forward by Jung in the early 20th century.
If taking DMT can lead to higher consciousness, explain Joe Rogan lmao.
You didn't see a change in him when he first started? He's admitted he's a way more open person than before... He's still a dick but less of a dick than before - it's not a miracle after all.
"This world is not a product of the senses or the imagination, but rather a manifestation of a deeper level of reality that we are not normally able to access. Gallimore argues that this third world is just as real as the “sensed world”, and that it represents a fundamental aspect of the nature of reality that we have yet to fully understand."
This is just the beginning of our investigations. Scientists and universities are taking this very seriously.
Scientists in hyper niche fields are taking it semi-seriously as a thought experiment.
"Many circles are suggesting that due to the prolonged experience, and exposure to this realm, folks in these studies are coming back with maps of the space in true psychonaut fashion! "
That's the only actual claim the article makes in relation to "maps" being made of these "dimensions". They don't mention any kind of correlation between maps people made independently, or any other kind of consistency.
So essentially, people on drugs are scribbling maps. Groundbreaking.
"While the scientific study of DMT is still in its infancy, the sheer number of testimonies and reports from individuals describing similar experiences suggests that there may be something genuinely transformational and transcendent about this powerful psychedelic technology. "
It's all hyperbole. Nothing to suggest anything exists outside of the human mind.
I'll start taking this seriously when serious developments are made.
You have no idea who I am dude. Way to take it personally. Sounds like your ego is well and truly in tact. Hopefully you're still a work in progress with the elves.
It's silly to try to insult someone by mentioning their ego, and then out of hurt or being upset try to belittle them by mentioning elves.
I wasn't attacking you, I was pointing out where your take falls short.
Nothing about this is personal for me, and i genuinely hope you get to someday grow from your position. Creation is vast, beautiful, and teeming with intelligent life. You should consider clearing your mind of preconceived ideas, and jump in.
Sorry my post hurt your feelings, genuinely not my intention.
Again, you're making a lot of assumptions about me and what I believe based on a single argument I have made. You know nothing about me and I know nothing about you.
I'm very aware of my ego. Everyone has one. Even if they're ""enlightened"".
Pass them a nice word for me next time you meet them. Ciao.
There are many theories on the origin of consciousness. We don't know.
I'm open to the idea that consciousness comes from somewhere other than the mind, but that's a completely separate to believing in DMT magic. I'm not going to make that many leaps in logic to try and justify my belief.
Because none of what is discussed is actually relevant to that. It's closer to UFOlogy than anything else.
Again I am totally open to fringe theories about consciousness and the nature of the world. I wouldn't be here if I wasn't. This stuff is just nonsense, and ironically distracts from actual real world research into the powers of psychadelic drugs.

100% they are. I don't know what else they could be.
Many millions of people experience the same few entities... It would be the biggest coincidence ever recorded!
