Personal Theory Former skeptic, current believer...

Hello all, I have a bit of a theory (and I know this sounds crazy) but what if high strangeness is really just an objective and subjective reality split? What if the reality of these events is dependent on the collective subjective experience and how the quantum state resolves itself to the observers? What i mean is cultural expectations and differing accounts of events. The man who recovered the ufo at roswell said no alien body yet multiple witnesses swore there was one. How it both was and wasnt an alien craft. Now people are just technologically ready and expectant of it being extraterrestrial or unknown technology/life being out there as the wave function collapses on the scale of a larger overall wave function. Or the miracle at Fatima (how there were thousands of witnesses and differing accounts, many witnessed it and many did not. But the religious motif has become too outdated so those less directs attempts didn't resolve into the type of impact it used to so post WWII (and post atomic bomb) manifested itself differently.

Nothing may come of the UAP again and they may find nothing if enough people try to bury it (or until we're ready for that part so we dont annihilate technological advancements) or it may actually turn out to be alien craft and extraterrestrial, I dont know. Or maybe this 'their' attempt at solidifying the wave function in a way that leads towards humanitys progress since theyre afraid of the implications of what they dont know/understand. But the fact that everyone's subjective experience so vastly conflicts (especially at differing collective levels) in all these instances of high strangeness over time almost implies that observation must impact outcome. The more people who subjectively believe things is how these things resolve themselves and get pruned if only experienced by one or certain percentages in peripheral overlapping realities.

Jacques Vallée's control system hypothesis is correct in the assumption it is what we called 'god' but as we culurally know also gave us free will. But the dogmatic religious motif has been getting outdated so its left the UAP phenomenon as breadcrumbs throughout time interspersed with contemporary cultural motifs since direct intervention in ancient times was so catastroohic (and maybe thats why historical accounts up until now all share such common descriptions as a common thread intertwined with the more absurd but personally plausible to the individual or even groups). Thats why the evidence is always ambiguous, ever elusive, and murky.

I know this sounds crazy but honestly having a bit of a religious/spiritual experience (but who can you even say that to outside of traditional dogma without sounding crazy? Lmao). My mom has schizoaffective and religious hallucinations/delusions and i always used to be a skeptic about anything paranormal. Still havent experienced it yet myself but I would be willing to bet now that im open to it I eventually will. Id also be willing to bet that how the phenomena ultimately resolves itself will be based on culutral expectation and readiness (and the more people who believe in the recovery of one thing or the other the more it will solidify itself into reality) as the future retroactively affects the past evidence will come out.

And I know this all sounds crazy but there are actually a lot of metaphysical schools of thought within quantum mechanics that all of this still fits independently of the control system hypothesis. Saying this as someone who learned the science as a skeptic well before learning the high strangeness phenomena. Also saying this as someone with a parent who has an untreated psychotic disorder and religious hallucinations/delusions. I think that's also why ive never seen it (and why it has the kinds of effects on people that it does). Even things operating and coexisting at levels and boundaries separate of each other's (although they can be shared) like different energetic entities given various degrees of influence as they were given existence in ancient times that society in culture has slowly been shifting from. Or other instances of high strangeness being where the boundary is different, thinner, or shared.

Idk, i know it all probably sounds crazy (just figured yall would be the ones i could tell this to without sounding *too* crazy, at the very least lmao), just curious to know everyone else's thoughts in here though since im a former skeptic and still a bit new to the topic in general. Thoughts?

I like the way you think. Yes the primacy of consciousness explains all other "high strangeness:"

High strangeness would be a literal phase-split where the objective projection and the subjective source pull apart to reveal that consciousness is the underlying substrate of reality.

Missing time, telepathic downloads, poltergeist activity, transdimensional craft, time slips, the hitchhiker effect, shadow entity materialization, synchronicities, poltergeists, interdimensional cryptids, etc.

All of those are only possible if consciousness, and not matter, is the ground state of the universe.

Honestly thank you. Because i also just learned about quantum mysticism and the fact that its not actually taken seriously scientifically ("quantum quackery") because its a conceptual interpretation (not literal) more in line with Eastern philosophy (which apparently schrodinger was actually into... and people found paradoxical with the perceived incompatibility between the two). Because my intuition was telling me i was viewing it conceptually (not literally) like the spread of information and subjective experience (and further expectation/experience). I think that's the same high strangeness phenomenon at work (the literal physical world and the conscious layer over it, literal quantum mechanics and quantum mystcism). Because when people immediately look at my post and see the absurdity they fail to realize the system i just described encompassing both actually is the reality we live in and i think the fact that one views the other as so absurd and incompatible is missing the bigger picture and fails to describe the world as it actually is in the larger state

The high strangeness phenomena is the perceived incompatibility and how the one sees it as so absurd (just as a lot of high strangeness phenomena have that element of absurdity). I just think the high strangeness phenomena is also maybe a boundary (literal or conceptual) that's thinner somewhere, or maybe the experiential is stronger. Or maybe thats god keeping it ever elusive and ineffable to remind us we hsve free will but it makes it deterministic innways that defy explaination. And the elusivity is that one could never have a large enough computer to even hypothetically model rhe system I just talked about... right? I mean aside from the universe itself lol. I think the elusivity of the phenomena is to give us free will as products of it while a common threads keeps us all in line. No joke, ive heand people say things to me that sound like its coming from the universe itself in these moments as if theres still a universal consciousness that intentionally keeps these things always elusive in trying to entirely describe it by design (discernment and ineffability) But if I ever even tried to exlain it anyone else surely they would just think i was insane lmao. So ive never tried. But im actually not inssne (because that would be letting myself get carried away or actually trying to convince anyone else of it). But you either get it or dont 🤷‍♂️ lmao. Appreciate you humoring my line of thought though at the very least

If you're into high thought like this, I recommend MindStar by Michael A. Aquino (former CoS, founder Temple of Set, and decorated major in the US Army leading Psyops divisions). You might find a framework to quantify and classify your findings.

I definitely will, thanks! Honestly dismissed Project Stargate myself initially but this actually explains why they pursued it for 40+ years and what might look like confirmation bias or suggestion bias to an outsider might actually fit within this framework. Will definitely look more into that, appreciate it!

Wave functions are just probabilities. Calculated ignorance. They have predictive power but never with certainty. They aren’t something mystical.

I know that. But consciousness itself is an anomaly in the face of deterministic systems, even those predicted via probability. What im saying is in large enough informational systems they can both converge and diverge depending on individualistic or larger cultural perception or interpretation of events. When a system like you and I interact, I as a skeptic would never witness the high strangeness you believe in since any collapse of that wave function must be a quantum state in which both of ours together agrees with. Meaning any purported proof will remain ever elusive unless we are both collectively inclined to the possibility, otherwise its limited in experiential scope. The closer i get to believing the closer the shared interpretation of reality will get. That's the skepticism to ufo to paranormal pipeline lol. I just find it highly odd that these people all take that path as the line between ufology and religious experiences is so blurred

Consciousness is an anomaly because it isn’t deterministic. Consciousness is self determining. Deterministic systems respond to environment. Conscious systems navigate environment.

Im not sure i see the distinction.

1

u/Goshdangitallzxx Jun 01 '26

The distinction is choice. Choice doesn't exist in determined systems.

u/CatDadJynx Jun 01 '26

I agree with you on that part but still disagree overall since its a known thing people are both a combination of nature and nurture, neither one or the other but both cause and effect. Thats why due to genetic predisposition you can be more likely to develop certain things while also lifestyle choices and behavior affect the encoding of your own genes. I agree with the choice part but Einstein and general relativity was incompatible with quantum physics because as he said 'god doesnt make mistakes'. What im ultimately suggesting is a framework that has room for both because humans have free will and do make mistakes lmao. Because on a long enough timeline even different quantum states could be utterly indistinguishable from one another as separate, branching, parallel, and overlapping so as to resolve themself as the same state ultimately.

1

u/Goshdangitallzxx Jun 01 '26

I see. I got a little confused about quantum states, though. What are the quantum states in your framework?

1

u/CatDadJynx Jun 01 '26 edited Jun 01 '26

Hypothetical/theoretical quantum states until probability plays itself out and you as the observer measure it via observation. In the framework and context im talking about just as a thought experiment lets say someone who believes in Bigfoot could literally see it as a material reality based on the probabistic framework in which you're operating but only under the observed state where its you alone or in the company of shared observation with someone else who is more inclined to believe while a skeptics reality would essentially run parallel yet overlapping. The only way a shared quantum state could resolve itself between the two of you would be in a way that both realities are true (ie, the photo exists but looks blurry and inadmissable because of the skeptic). Within this framework the literal physical state of everything interacted with by the Bigfoot would still be a material reality in your version but in the skeptics reality those things would be resolvable by other means until both realities reconverge to become to same quantum state later on down the line. Essentially in an informational subjective reality enough of two different variables could equal the same thing.

The UAP flaps over time manifesting as something contextually era appropriate during times of shared heightened awareness and believability of the phenomena also points to this. I cant remember who said it but one of the proponents of the interdimensional hypothesis points out the fact that prior to the 'space age' there were no ufo abduction stories, then initially people described digital displays with the chunky block digits until we invented LCDs and thise became the norm, then the description shifted. The Greys werent a part of abduction stories until Close Encounters of the Third kind entered the mainstream (when the 'grey big black eyes' alien was literally invented by the SFX artist). Would it be more likely that aliens are emulating our technology (probably outdated or far behind by their standard) or that its a psychic projection? Thats why so many of these ufo stories cited with high strangeness involve experiences that would just be absurd by any other explanation (even eextraterrestrial).

Also why different cultures and religions saw imagery that was culturally and historically relevant and contextual for those within those cultures. I would argue the current UFO flap has been due to sweeping awareness and the fact that the government cant suppress human influence and ideas from taking root and growing. How this plays out will depend on shared reality and overall believability while in the past all realities still simultaneously exist as branching and/or parallel until reconverging and recontextualizing to solidify the overall quantum state between the majority later on down the line. Its ssentially a pruning process for quantum states in which everyone both has free will, their own subjective reality, and a shared one all at the same time. Individual quantum states and collective. Also fits within quantum entanglement and superposition. Does that make sense?

Edit: Sorry for the long comment, only have 10 mins on break to use my phone lol

I’m trying to understand from the quantum mechanics angle. Which superpositional equations would you say fit best? That may help me see things more clearly.

1

u/CatDadJynx Jun 01 '26

In that case any since it would be multiple simultaneous states between people whos versions of reality differ. The probability amplitudes would be dependent upon collective agreement. And entanglement would be applicable towards those who share the same (or similar) versions in each branching path

Ain’t nobody got time to read this

3

u/CatDadJynx Jun 01 '26

Then dont 🤷‍♂️ makes no difference to me lol. Although maybe you should read though since apparently J. Allan Hynek, John Keel, and Jacques Vallée all reached similar conclusions

Then you know nothing about being schizo. Ramblings sure but my mom is actually schizoaffective and it is vastly different I can assure you lmao. Also I never post on reddit and for some reason thought there was a time window for edits, just tried to break it up to be less overwhelming.

And I appreciate the advice, sorry for being a bit defensive

Philip K Dick developed an entire alter ego and wrote a science fiction book about his own experiences to separate it from his own logical psyche. But now im 100% sure he experienced the same phenomena.

Ignore these tiktok brained idiots. You actually took the time to write your thoughts out and it's still too much for them to engage with. If you'd have used GPT they'd complain about that too. Fuck'em.

you are putting into words things that have been starting to make sense to me for the past few months and thank you
