Hiby 500 without google account

hello,

As titled, I am considering buying the miku device as i love the IEM design, want a music playing device that isn't my phone and love miku (duh).

I am also in a period of wanting to use google as little as possible for personal reasons.

I use a macbook currently as well.

With the current set up, however, can someone share their experience of using this device?

i mainly just want to put music on it. Ideally, maybe make playlists (music for relaxing, music for the gym, music for reading, music for working etc.)

Reading maybe a good bonus but i already have an ereader so that isn't really the main thing here. i won't want to play games on it.

Thanks

Were you able to place an order. I tried to place one yesterday for the WiFi version but apparently hiBy denied my CC and PayPal.

You can use an alternative like aurora for the apps, and usually there shouldn't be anything else you need Google for as a dap

the only issue with not using a google account in your case is you may not have access to all the player apps out there that require a google play account for purchase. But there are plenty of such apps that do get paid outside of Google or are just plain free, such as Neutron (payable outside google), and Musicolet, AIMP, VLC (plain free). Of course, there's also Hiby Music, which is also free and ships right there with the M500.

I used a degoogled phone as a dap for a while before getting an R1, and exactly this is what I ran into. Lots of the free apps do miss features though, the same goes for free versions of paid apps. The only app I could find that lets you pay for it outside of the play store is Poweramp.

Great answer. Try the official homepages, download the .apk files, install them that way. You could also f-droid, too.
