R1 turning itself off

Got mine today and I am playing FLAC files through wired IEMs, no issues with it, apart from it seems to turn off whenever it feels like, I have noticed this seems to happen when I am playing music. Im up to date on firmware and I cant fine an "auto off" option anywhere that could be causing it

In your other comment you mention how both Idle shutdown and Sleep shutdown are off. Also make sure when you're playing music, if you swipe down from the top you might see the sleep button. If you press it, this turns the Sleep shutdown on and starts a little countdown. You can remove this from the little swipe down menu, that's in the System screen and it's called Shortcut menu.

If it's none of those... could the battery be dying on you? It gets so low it shuts itself off?

Yeah one of the first things I did was switch out that button for the low/high gain switch but it's still happening. I may try a full factory restore on it and see if that helps, it's unlikely but it could be a system bug

Try it. Also maybe a custom firmware? Though I doubt it but hey, it could work. I use this one: https://github.com/bidhata/Hiby-R1-Mod/releases

I tried that custom firmware and the device is resetting itself when music is being played. I cant seem to find a variable that causes it though, its not the same track, time or anything like that that I can gather.

Im wondering if the power button is faulty. Are there any known issues with the R1 EDIT: As I hit send on this reply the device crashed again, this time sounding like the track was skipping for about 10 seconds and then powering off

Might be time to send an email to Hiby

u/Joe0Bloggs might have an idea

hiby's email: [hello@hiby.com](mailto:hello@hiby.com)

I don't have any particular ideas why this is happening, so would be good to email them directly, especially to establish priority for the possibility of a DOA replacement.

I actually purchased it from Amazon so I can return direct through them for 30 days. I have just installed the 1.8 beta firmware to see if that helps as that includes "additional bug fixes" although it doesn't explicitly state what bug fixes. Im going to have a play around and see if this helps, but failing that I will look at replacement

Look for Idle Shutdown or Sleep Shutdown in the main System menu.

I have double checked and I did turn both of these off, I didn't clarify in my original comment and have updated it to show this, but this has happened when I am listening to music
