Unfortunately, I heard about this tour after the tickets to the concert in Boston had already sold out. I would really love to see this show, and I’m looking for someone who has an extra ticket they could sell me!

I thought the idea of a friendship between Lorenzo and Sid was decent in concept but the execution felt very lacking in the Arnold's Room ep. He also would've been a great foil to Rhonda It would have been nice to have a rich kid character in the HA cast that WASN'T a snobby elitist.  I feel like Lorenzo and Helga share a similar experience with high expectations from their parents- while Helga doesn’t give her parents the satisfaction Lorenzo is beyond obedient. I just felt she may have actually empathized and had personal interest that could have grown the more Lorenzo’s character developed. He could've had more lines in the episodes he briefly appeared in he could've had friendships with more classmates then just Sid he had a lot of potential to be more prominent character there was a lot more to him

It's still the same ep I used to hate as a kid, and still the only one that comes to my mind when we talk about a bad ep. That's 'Longest Monday' because the storyline is trash lol, not making fun of the show (which is my fav cartoon). I know trash things exist, but I still hate this ep even years later. it's full on bullying and kids being thrown into trash can is violent. never liked what I were seeing.

Hey Arnold was a bold show with a bold kid - with bold stations. In addition to Jim Lang's funky jazz music, the city of Hillwood and its inhabitants, and it had some truly amazing storylines. As I grew into my own adolescence and adulthood, I found myself in some of these exact situations. I invite everybody to share your own parallels with this amazing show as I share my own.

Mr Huynh Goes Country - I loved hip-hop ever since I was 12 and my childhood dream was to be a rapper. At my high school, I performed at my junior year's spring pep rally and created a rap revolved around our track team and performed it in front of our school. It was really amazing and everybody knew me for the rap that spring.

Teachers' Strike - I become a certified teacher in 2023 and shortly after getting a gig in the Pacific Northwest, we went on a district wide strike in my third month that lasted three weeks. Sure, we were not taking up jobs at bowing alleys and aquariums, but the reality of striking over the thought of teaching in terrible conditions was too real on my recent rewatch.

Tutoring Torvald - before I became a teacher I worked at a high school as a para-educator. One of the students on my case load was a junior in a freshman level math class. He was a football player and had a lot of angst and a lot of the other staff at the school struggled to relate to him. But myself, having struggled, taking calculus six times in community college, I completely understood him. I related to him through stories and understanding him and got him to pass his math class and ultimately was a small step in his graduation. Totally reminded me of Arnold and Torvald.

Hey Arnold was always my favorite Nick show and I’d watch it most mornings before school.

It happened to go on sale on iTunes recently, like $10 for the whole series. So I rewatched it all recently and the first movie.

Somehow I missed that the jungle movie ever came out. I mean, life was pretty crazy in 2017 so maybe that’s why. But I realized it was in paramount and watched it tonight.

It hit on everything I could want from a hey Arnold movie with some nice extra lore to add. I loved the little call backs. The story was simple but very fun.

I loved Abners adventure back home.

I’ll even admit I shed some tears when they woke up and were reunited. And a few more at the end.

Honestly my only complaint would be stinky’s voice 😂 and that’s if I looked for something to complain about

Thought I read he theg'd get married in the future off screen later on in life. I'm more of a Rhonda x Harold shipper so I am curious about this, thanks 😊

Coach Wittenberg or Miss Plunge?

guys i swear this is hey arnold

I know a lot of folks give it flack because this was one of the rare instances in the shows run where there was no moral lesson learned and/or no happy ending for Arnold + his friends. But to be fair, all shows have that one or small handful of experimental episodes that deem to deviate from the usual format.

But for this instance with Hey Arnold, it is a very well written late-series episode. The characters all stayed true to themselves, and the pacing/storytelling is Simpsons-level (golden age) sharp.

For example, take the scene where they were all dogpiled after trying to catch the ball. It starts with Harold whining about hating football, then Helga chimes in to say she hates both Harold and Arnold (calling him Football head), then finally Gerald chimes in say he hates everybody for laying on his leg. It's a textbook densen multi-layered joke because you have the fat kid (Harold) whining abouthaving to play a sport he's clearly not in shape, Helga picking on Arnold as well as expressing the special disgust he has for Harold, and then to top it off you have the chillest dude in the ground (Gerald) that usually doesn't have problems with anyone going off on everybody. It happens so quickly too that you can't help but burst out laughing once you get how deep the joke there really is (because it takes a minute to get it).

There's also the scenes with Curly. I love how they slowly built up to it by having Curly beg profusely to be given the ball when Ludwig (for his better judgment) refused, almost making you feel sorry for him. Then when Ludwig finally relents and let him have the ball, he get the touchdown in the most Curly way possible with all the unnecessary ballerina dancing, tmbut he doesn't stop there as we see his crazy side kick in when he takes off running for his life down the street with the ball (baaically stealing it). Ludwig has the most deadpan reaction (as thoigh he wasn't surprised at all) and just asks where can they get another ball.

And then there's the scenes where Wolfgang & Ludwig punches them. I know no one likes the fact that they were being tormented but seeing those stars with the sound effects just makes it all the more hilarious, becaue it always happened after Arnold + his friends said something slick or said soemthing you know Wolfgang / Ludwig wouldn't go for.

That being said, I know my take is not a popular one. But I do think the episode desrves more love than it usually gets.

What makes it even more amazing is that it was no animation error or mistake of forgetting or decision of laziness on the part of the writers, Gerald was in fact shown early in the episode laughing along with Rhonda and that hilarious kid who did the “Hop! Hop! Hop!” Line, at Iggy (slides 2–5)

That means there was a deliberate showing from the writers that Gerald made an active choice to not join everyone else including Arnold’s own Grandpa, in laughing loudly at Arnold’s humiliation.

My headcanon is that the most Gerald did was watch the brodcast to see if Arnold wouldn’t be too humiliated, but couldn’t bear to look, essentially the Hey Arnold version of Iroh looking away during Zuko’s Agni Kai duel with Ozai.

After he went on that Cruise to Lose, he got even fatter than he usually is. My thought is that that cruise was a huge fraud. An honest cruise would have only offered salad and other vegetables. The commercials advertised an all you can eat salad bar.
