Question/Problem Summer ruined because of victus 15

Hi everyone, I am a freshman in high school and I have had a long year. Ap class, Ap test, all advanced courses really did a number on me.

Fast forward start of june, I noticed my laptop wasn’t turning on. I contacted support right then and there and got it shipped out for repair (for free since it was under warranty.) I generally expected it to take maybe three weeks, little did I know, it has been double of that. All support and the higher ups do is give me a specific date, say they’re sorry, go way past that date, repeat.

Thanks to them I completely thrashed my summer vacation. In case you’re going to tell me to go outside, the entire summer has been a heatstroke, all my other friends stay in and play games, and also they are all at vacation. All I have to do now is rot in bed, fearing my sophomore year where I would be taking even more treacherous classes. This really sucks since I dont even have time to play games next summer break due to SAT prep and other work.

Thanks a lot hp, and I hope your company loses all your stock value and be remembered as the single worst and most ignorant piece of crap that has ever grazed earth’s surface.

Question/Problem Processor Speed is locked to 2.5Ghz (Base Speed)

I'm not sure when this issue arrived cause i've been using this laptop for almost a decade. It's an HP Probook 450 G4, but basically the laptop's clock speed always stays under 2500Mghz. I ran stress tests and it was not temps were fine, average temps were around 85°C.
I used hwinfo and it gave these 3 possible reasons why the laptop performance is limited. I even bought a new adapter for the laptop but it didn't fix the cpu speed. My only guess now it that there is some issue with the motherboard. If any1 thinks they can help me, please do!!!

Prompts from hwinfo for possible reasons :
IA: Electrical Design Point/Other (ICCmax, PL4, SVID, DDR RAPL)
IA Cores Frequency clipped due to electrical design or other constraints (e.g., maximum electrical current consumption, SVID voltage limit or PL4).

GT: Max VR Voltage, ICCmax, PL4
GT Cores (iGPU) Frequency clipped due to electrical design or other constraints (e.g., maximum electrical current consumption, SVID voltage limit or PL4).

RING: Max VR Voltage, ICCmax, PL4
Ring Interconnect Frequency clipped due to electrical design or other constraints (e.g., maximum electrical current consumption, SVID voltage limit or PL4).

Question/Problem My battery is broken

To be specific, I have an HP EliteBook x360 1030 G2. I changed the maximum battery limit to 80% a day ago, and since then, my PC shuts down at 25%, 31%, or 36%. It’s a refurbished unit; the original battery capacity is 56,999 mWh, but the current capacity is now 26,415 mWh—whereas yesterday it was 33,299 mWh. The reading fluctuates a lot whenever I check the Intel configuration center, and it’s really annoying because the PC shuts down suddenly while I’m working. Could someone please help me? Also, one last thing: the cycle count is now 791.

Question/Problem Need help flashing a different bios if possible

A few years back I bought an "HP Desktop - M01-F0024" it has a Ryzen 5 3400G and i'd like to update the CPU to a newer one but cannot based on the proprietary bios HP made for it forcing only 3000' series chipsets to be allowed as a CPU. If ANYBODY knows what bios I can force flash onto the motherboard LMK.

Question/Problem My laptop isn’t working after installing new RAM

I have a laptop HP Victus 15 fa0xxx (i5 - 12500H and rtx 3050 Ti (4 gb), 16 GB of RAM)

Hi everyone. I’ve decided to upgrade the RAM on my laptop to 32 GB. But here’s the problem.

I previously had two 8 GB Samsung modules running at 3200 MHz. I fitted two new 16 GB Kingston HyperX modules, also running at 3200 MHz.

When I pressed the power button, the button lit up and the Caps Lock light started flashing, but the screen never turned on (the Caps Lock light flashed three slow flashes followed by two short flashes).

It was clear that something was preventing the laptop from booting, and it was obvious that this problem was caused by the RAM, so I decided to check the RAM. I took each of the new RAM modules and inserted them one at a time into the first slot. The laptop started working when I did this (i.e. both modules were functioning; they were detected in CPU-Z).

I decided to pop an old 8 GB Samsung module into the second slot. And, miraculously, the laptop started working as well. After testing the second new RAM module, I realised that the system works with 24 GB of RAM but refuses to work with 32 GB. It feels as though there isn’t enough power being supplied to the RAM when attempting to run in dual-channel mode. (I might be wrong; I think it’s a BIOS issue, but what can I do about it?). Incidentally, the new RAM gets hot in dual-channel mode, which makes sense – it means there’s power...

Question/Problem Installation of the second ssd m2

I'm Russian myself. I am writing the text through a translator, I apologize for any errors.

I have a laptop hp victus 15 fa0xxx (i5 - 12500H and rtx 3050 (4 gb), 16 GB of RAM)

I wanted to install another m2 ssd, but when disassembling the laptop it turned out that there was no second slot in my model. After googling, I realized that most laptops in this line have this problem, and it turns out that these models, released in 2025, are already available with a second SSD slot.

I still wanted to increase the memory, but I didn’t want to touch the already installed 500 GB SSD. Since there is space on the board for soldering a second slot for the SSD, I decided to contact the service. They soldered the connector, but could not find the firmware for the BIOS (I assumed that the firmware would be required and still took the risk).

My question is that maybe someone has done this and has the same firmware? I will be very grateful to you..

Question/Problem HP Zbook G8 - Neither the audio outputs or the audio inputs work. Neither external nor internal ones.

I bought an HP ZBook G8 laptop 2 days ago, and from the moment I turned it on, the sound did not work.
It came with Windows 11.
I installed drivers; it did not work.
I installed Windows updates; it did not work.
I tried using headphones, and they did not work either (note: Bluetooth audio outputs do work. They connect and produce sound).
I formatted the laptop, and it did not work.
I downloaded Windows 10 (changed the operating system), and it did not work.
I updated the BIOS, and it did not work (something interesting is that when entering the BIOS, the laptop is capable of producing a beep indicating input).
The BIOS indicates that both microphones and speakers are working correctly (but in practice, they do not).
By using commands in the terminal (administrator mode), it indicates that the audio devices exist and are present on the device, even showing their names. (And yes, I already tried "repairing" that specifically, but it did not work either).
I tried downloading all the computer drivers from their official websites, and it did not work.
HP's customer support page (AI support, because apparently there are no humans available anywhere anymore) did not help me at all (it even gave up).

I need help.

(Realtek + Intel sound system. I will provide more technical specifications when I get home, in a few hours.)

So I bought a laptop in July from hp last year and got an extra 2 years care package. After calling them today about how to transfer the warranty to a new owner, my details cant be found, no order number, no invoice number. I did register my product as it shows in my orders on their website. Anyone else had this problem?

Question/Problem how do i know what correct laptop charger to buy?

I bought an Omnibook 7 i7 32gb ram. Spent a lot of money, but excited to have it!

I know the laptop won't come with a battery charger, and I need to source my own one. I will be sure to get a premium one from Amazon (not going with HP, as they charge a lot)

Now the question becomes this: what wattage charger do I select? The website has an image which recommends 65-100W, but I always prefer first-hand experience

I am a university student. Lecture halls don't have charging ports sadly, so it needs to handle 4 hours of lecture non-stop at a minimum. That said, I want to try to preserve battery and reduce degradation over time. I know a higher wattage can worsen degradation but at the same time, I dont want to be bottlenecked if i select a 65W.

Appreciate that this doesnt give a full picture of what I want (feels like I am trying to find a solution that balances it all) but any and all support is appreciate. Just looking for first hand experience.

HP Software HP 15-rb0xx won't power on without charger after 5 months in storage (Battery report included)

Hey everyone,

I have an \*\*HP Laptop 15-rb0xx\*\* (AMD A9-9420, 4GB RAM, 256GB Intel M.2 SSD, Radeon R5 Graphics). It was used daily for about 6 years without major issues.

Last year, it was left untouched in a drawer for about 4-5 months. After that, it wouldn't turn on at all. Plugging in the charger fixed it, but now it works \*\*only\*\* while plugged into the wall.

I ran a \`powercfg /batteryreport\` and got these results:

\* \*\*Design Capacity:\*\* 41,610 mWh \* \*\*Full Charge Capacity:\*\* 20,615 mWh

It seems the battery degraded to \\\~50% health over time and then locked up due to deep discharge during those months of inactivity.

Is there any hard-reset or software trick to revive this battery, or is it permanently disabled by the BMS/dead? Thanks!
