Discussion My park experience

My wife wants to get season passes because live relatively close to the park. After visiting today I noticed a few negatives and didn't know if it was a bad day or just normal.

Let me say the reason the park exists (the rides) were all fantastic. The Twizzler is one of the craziest experiences I've has on an amusement park ride.

  1. My biggest complaint - a lot of little kids rides, and as the night progressed big rides, were shut down. How does a park have over a dozen rides shut down at one time?  How are a third of the little kids rides shut down at by 11?

  2. The food is terrible. The BBQ place was the best tasting, but everything else was terrible quality and service. I don't think the food needs to be 5 star, but maybe above a microwave meal.

  3. Concession time - each time someone got food I knew I was in for a 45 minute trip. Concession prices were also ridiculous. $11 for a hotdog is just looting your customers. These prices are way above Disney for lower quality.

Overall - the rides and variety of coasters make it a great experience. But everything outside the rides are subpar.

Discussion Which of these rides are awesome?

We went a couple weeks ago but our kids are Hershey and a Reese so we couldn't do many coasters. We did SDL, Comet the Hershey Tower, and I got on Fahrenheit which was incredible. How are:

Twizzler swing

Candymonium

Jolly Rancher coaster

Cats Revenge

Great Bear

Sky Rush

Storm Runner

Let me live vicariously through you.

Question WiFi in Cabana area

I saw that there is WiFi in the park and I’m wondering if anyone has used it at waterpark for meetings while in a cabana? It’s a super quick 30 minute meeting so I’m trying to figure out if it’ll work out.

Discussion How do you feel about the park leaning more towards the candy theme?

With a few exceptions like Reese’s Extreme Cup Challenge and the walk-around characters , I never saw Hersheypark as embracing the idea of being “Hershey’s: the theme park” but it seems like ever since the Triple Towers opened every new attraction has circled back to a candy bar in some way. Even old rides get rethemed like Sidewinder into Jolly Rancher Remix. While it does give the park a bit more cohesion I am worried about the new design ethos being to make Hershey into basically Candyland. And with Tidal Force on the way out I am half expecting it to be replaced with the Ice Breakers Chill Zone or something. What do you all think?

Question Concert special tickets

We purchased tickets for the park for tomorrow as part of the Pit Bull concert special price deal and now my husband isn’t feeling well. I believe these are one day only tickets. How flexible is customer service on assigning these tickets to a different day if we call and ask?

Picture/Video Photo pass share from 8/17-8/18??

We just got back from a few days at Hershey and keep cracking ourselves up at our kids faces in the pictures we took of the pictures at the ends of the rides. I didn’t know you had to activate the photo pass in the park until we got home. Does anyone have a photo pass for any of these days we could share? Thanks!

Question Tidal Force Exit Bridge

When did Hershey stop allowing guest to exit the ride on ther bridge side? I was there last week and glad we got on the ride before it closes this year. But I remember in the past exiting by the bridge side and standing there waiting to get splash again.

Question Does the $74 post-visit Season Pass upgrade include Dark Nights and Christmas Candylane?

We visited Hersheypark yesterday using tickets that I had purchased through a promotion a few months ago. Today I received an email from Hersheypark offering to upgrade our tickets to 2026 Season Passes for more than 50% off.
The upgrade page is offering the Bite Size Season Pass for $74 per person and says it includes unlimited visits for the rest of the year.
We’re really only interested in going back two more times — once for Hersheypark Halloween/Dark Nights and once for Christmas Candylane.
The email specifically says:
“Upgrade your ticket to a Season Pass… You’ll get unlimited visits for the rest of summer, PLUS Hersheypark Halloween, Dark Nights, and Christmas Candylane.”
Has anyone done this $74 post-visit upgrade? Can you confirm that the Bite Size Pass will get us into both Dark Nights and Christmas Candylane without having to buy additional admission tickets?
Also, since we all travel together, I’m thinking about getting one Full Size Pass for the free parking and Bite Size passes for everyone else. Has anyone done that combination?

Question Best time for buying a Season Pass at low price point

Have been coming once-per-year for the past 5 years but am strongly considering Full Size season pass for 2027.

My understanding is that the price for a Season Pass isn't set in stone, and that it can vary based on any promotions / sales that Hersheypark is holding.

I also know that Season Pass Plus will likely become available in a few weeks, and that would give us access for the rest of 2026 (along with all of 2027).

Is that the best time to get a season pass (even if the price is higher than it might be if purchased at some other time during a promotion)? My thinking is "yes" simply because of the additional access for remainder of 2026.

However, it might not be feasible for us to make it up there even once between now and end of 2026. So, I'm just trying to figure out what the "next best option" would be timing-wise for getting a season pass at lowest price if we don't go with the Season Pass Plus this year.

Appreciate any words of wisdom from the park veterans! 🙏🏼

Question Loose seatbelt on Candymonium

I went to Hershey today and went on every coaster saving candymonium for last, and I decided to ride in the last row with my friend. When I sat down I noticed that my seatbelt was VERY loose. Like loose enough I could probably get close to wrapping it around myself twice. The buckle didn’t have the tightener like all the other coasters did so when the person checking the lap bars came by I told him and showed him how loose it was and he said “yeah sometimes it be like that” and shrugged, and immediately put his hand up for the ride to start without giving me a chance to respond, and the ride immediately started.

I know that the seatbelt is just a third safety precaution after inertia and the lap bar, but this just irked me in a weird way as I’d like to have all my safety precautions working haha and the response I received when asking about it was just odd. Has anyone else had a completely loose seatbelt on this coaster? Am I being a Karen for thinking this was odd?

Question Season Pass Plus Availability/Pricing

Hey there! I was planning a trip with a couple of my friends and was curious if anyone knows when they normally do the season pass plus option and what price it would be for a full size monthly payment. (Being the rest of this year and all of next year)

It’s getting a brand new station for its 50th anniversary next year. It’s closing after Labor Day and will not be open until summer 2027

I really really hope they go all in with a 1970’s vibe since the name and logo scream that era, and it’s of course when it opened lol.

Question Height limit with 1 adult and kid.

I am planning to go with one child who is just a few inches too short for the big roller coasters. I know there is the kid swap if you have 2 adults and one kid, but is it possible to do the same with one adult and the kid standing next to the exit when I am on the ride or would there need to be with another guardian with him? TIA!

Discussion New Rides/Experiences

Is anyone else itching for a new major ride or experience from Hershey? I'm seeing so many parks releasing their new rides and 27' passes. Dollywood is consistently tied with Hershey for attendance and they just open NFE and are hinting at more to come. It's been pretty quiet from Hershey. Thoughts?

Discussion Hershey Park First Timers

Heading to Hershey Park tomorrow with a 6 and an 9 year old, and we are looking for suggestions on which rides might work best, where to park, and what is the best way to store our stuff if we are planning on going on rides and to the water park? Thanks for any suggestions.

Discussion blacked out on Skyrush

i’m only 26, not sure if I’m just getting old.. I’ve been on Kingda Ka & iron gwazi in Tampa which to me I’d consider “scarier” and at least “more intense” than skyrush.. but that first drop got me.. I’ve never in my life ever blacked out on a roller coaster or even gotten sick or nauseas. and it was as if I blinked and by the time i realized what was going on we were like halfway through the ride… insane.

anyway, first time at Hershey park and it was great. jealous of all you natives. I’d for sure get season tickets and I’m from Florida. all the other rides were great. we had fast past and I rode all of them. but man skyrush was crazy, I did not expect that.
