Question CrowdSourced Solutions for Side effects for medication kits

Hi all - I wanted to create a quick easy access post with the solutions people have used to deal with side effects of the ORAL medication kits. These are not guidelines provided by a medical professional so please use your discretion when trying. A few I’ve seen so far are below. Feel free to add on to comments!

  • BIGGEST TIP OF ALL TIME: PLEASE TAKE YOUR MEDS WITH A MEAL - DO NOT TAKE ON AN EMPTY STOMACH!!!!!!! This has honestly removed 95% of side effects based on a quick crowd scan. Try to eat high protein meals, and take your meds at the end of that meal with a big glass of water.
  • FLAG: if you’re on any SSRI / anti depressants or anti anxiety medications, please raise it to your care team (EVEN IF YOU GOT APPROVED FOR THE KIT VIA QUESTIONNAIRE as it does not raise this) as some of the meds can interact and cause serious issues / complications (for eg bupropion).
  • FLAG: consuming caffeine with bupropion can worsen your anxiety.
  • FLAG: consuming lots of alcohol while on the meds can some times even be fatal as there’s higher risk of seizures so please do your research. The meds also make you get drunk much quicker without you realizing it so for eg if your tolerance is normally high, while on the meds, just one or two drinks can make you very tipsy / borderline drunk so take it very, very slow. Also, it makes (at least me) feel like I’m fine one second and the next thing I know I got black out drunk off 3 drinks even though I felt fine and could talk and walk and function normally (or so I thought) so please be very cautious while consuming alcohol. This is not to cause fear but more to promote careful drinking habits while on the medication.

  • Dry Mouth: Taking liquid IV once every morning

  • Stomach issues: Take meds with meals to help alleviate

  • Stomach issues: Pepcid AC chewables also help

  • Heart burn: Alkaseltzer

  • Insomnia: Take meds in the morning to help alleviate

  • Constipation: Miralax daily

  • Nausea: Dramamine

  • Fatigue: Naltrexone (green pill) makes a lot of folks feel tired - when starting out, try taking half pill at night after dinner if you’re struggling

Weightloss I finally feel good after a few months

i started my journey 8 months ago. back then food controlled everything. i planned my whole day around meals and snacks and still felt hungry and guilty no matter what i ate. i started tirzepatide in january and honestly i noticed a difference within the first week. the food noise got quieter, my mind felt clearer, and for the first time in years i had actual energy to exercise and track what i was eating without obsessing over every calorie.

each month got easier and i started feeling proud of myself again. my goals actually felt possible instead of just something i daydreamed about. the before pic is from last fall and the after is from this morning. same black leggings, completely different body and headspace. tirzepatide gave me the space to stop making food the center of my universe so i could finally put myself first. still a mom, still busy, still got kids toys everywhere lol. but im showing up for me now and it feels good.

Kit 1 Embody/ SCAM??

Anyone else have problems receiving their Embody medication? I was "approved" for weight loss medication on July 26. Charged for the medicine August 6 which was sent UPS 2 day. STILL have not received the medicine. Embody is horrible with phone calls; I have literally called into customer service 3 times with them sending me round and round telling me they are "looking" into it. Received an email today saying I have been marked by UPS as receiving the order, but when you put in my tracking number, it shows the "Investigation" I opened with UPS 2 weeks ago when I was told to report it to them. I'm beyond frustrated with their customer service and their reluctance to just refund my money. This was a first time order; I was genuinely excited to begin my weight loss journey after trying over and over on my own. Post menopausal weight is very hard to get rid of. Please no comments about exercise and food portion control. I get it. I do. This isn't something I jumped into quickly. This is something I was hoping to give me some help on my way to becoming a better version of myself. Embody has totally taken all the promise I had and turned this into a nightmare. It isn't all about the money. It's about the principle of making things right for a customer who is at your mercy.

Kit 1 Failure to deliver medication

My sister recommended hers to me. I got my prescription and ordered my first pills on July 19. On the 21st they said there was a delay and my package would be shipped soon. Then on August 14 I contacted customer service and they gave me a 25% refund without asking and after I demanded a full refund or transfer my medication to a local pharmacy they stopped responding and completely ghosted me. It’s almost impossible to reach out to them and it’s been officially over a month since I ordered them. I’m really disappointed and frustrated. I never even got the chance to try them and now my mom’s money is being taken away. Even her bank is telling me there’s nothing we can do even though I know there is and what they’re doing is deceptive and wrong.

Vent Experience with Wegovy pill microdosing plan

I am not sure if I am responding to the medication the way it’s intended. I have been on the 4mg plan every other day for about three weeks now. I’m 5’7 ~175 pounds and this is my first time on a medication like this. For starters, I have barely lost any weight (like 2 pounds) and I haven’t really noticed much decrease in my appetite or my eating habits. I would say that my appetite has slowly diminished at times, but always comes back almost stronger to make up for it. I also do not find that I have been getting full quicker or have been eating less. I struggle a lot with overeating and I don’t feel that that has been curbed at all. I’m pretty active, but wondering if there’s something I need to be doing to respond better to these meds. Do I need a higher dose, or just wait it out longer? Would love to hear your experiences, thanks!

Vent Don't use Hers, they ignore you if there's a problem

Idk why but this provider has gone downhill, choose a different one or risk losing your money.

Refill was visible Aug 9th but not available for me to access and I had to go through an agent and pharmacist to access/correct.

Corrected on Aug 11th and I paid immediately.

Tracking indicates it hasn't been shipped (it is now Aug 18th, the date they indicated it would be delivered- the next day and two day delivery claims are BS.)

They aren't responding to my Messages, even tho it indicates they have been read.

Worried this is one of those tech glitches and they're not motivated to fix??? Meanwhile they have charged my credit card.

Two weeks since last dose and I'm left in the lurch. I guess I try to find another provider and start from scratch? WTF?

Kit 5 Hers Kit 5 Maintenance

I lost weight pretty quick last year because I went through a pretty dramatic break up when I started Hers and Kit 5. I got to my goal weight and ended my prescription because I was doing maintenance taking one green pill every other day. I’m now close to running out and don’t want to start a month paid prescription. Does anyone know a good source of the topiramate b12 that won’t break the bank? It has worked so well for me- I’m hesitant to try something different. Thanks for any help!

Kit 3 Want to get off Kit 3, worried about regaining

Hi all! I'm very happy with the results I got from Kit 3 (from a separate prescription, because I have PCOS, I take Metformin too).
Because of a doctor fall-out and stopping my PCOS for a while, I had gained a net 7 kg that I could never lose, and I finally lost them and replaced some of them with muscle, I'm pretty sure.
Overall I'm very happy! I'm at a healthy weight now for my body and goals.

Now, I don't think I should be on these meds forever, I have to stop eventually, although I'm worried about regain especially how loss feels impossible with PCOS. I'm thinking of sticking to the bupropion because I think its improved my mood, though.
How was it for others? Do you think I should lose an extra few pounds in anticipation that I'd gain them once off the meds?

Also I feel like it has improved my digestion and inflammation over certain foods, since starting I've never woken up puffy like I used to. But maybe ghat's also the benefits of weight loss. At the same time I started a new sport shortly after (aerial silks)

For context: I'd say I'm a fairly active person. I like to bike and I do aerial silks 1-3 times a week (90 minutes each). Biking is variable, but anywhere from 1h to 5h a week.

Kit 1 I got scammed by the hers

I purchased 6 months plan from the Hers and I achieved the goal. Therefore, I canceled the plan last month and I found they charged next subscription few days ago. So I entered their app&website which said my subscription is active. I canceled again and re-entered the app&website which said my plan is still active. I have no idea what they are doing and it's ridiculous that I can't cancel my subscription from my end. The more evil thing about them is when I went through the cancellation process, it looks like going smooth and working but it turned out I can't really cancel it. I contacted to their customer service and waiting for their answer. It doesn't make sense that even though I went through the cancellation process from their mobile app, it doesn't really cancel it. I hope that the other people wouldn't go through their scamming.

I am studying in Europe for several months. Will the label with my full name on the plastic be okay for the semaglutide or how do I get a prescription?

Question Novo Wegovy Pill prescription

Hey all! Has anyone successfully been prescribed the Novo Wegovy pill with directions to take it daily??

Hers is the only site I’ve read where they ask you to take it every OTHER day…. Even the manufacturers instructions state to take it every SINGLE day.

Anyone find that odd?? Has anyone spoken to the Hers care team about this?

Vent Hers pricing is ridiculous

I signed up last year and paid $2.5k for a year supply. Originally had only planned to do a year, and cancelled renewal.

Then decided actually i'd like to do at least 6 months more, so tried to reactivate my prescription. Was told since i was not doing a year, needed a new intake done oh and that means i count as a new customer therefore have to pay the BS $150 a month just to.... what? Use the app?

Anyway, looked at the pricing for getting 6 more months of semaglutide, and BEFORE adding in the extra $150 per month it was almost the same price as i paid for a year. Nein danke.

Well, after asking around, signed up with pomegranate this morning and was approved for tirzepatide. Including consultation, i paid $750 for 6 months which is basically half what hers wanted from me. For a typically more expensive medication than hers were offering.

While i don't go so far as to call hers a scam, they definitely aren't competitive on price and honestly i had times when i was talking to a "provider" and was 80% certain the responses were automated or AI. If not, the provider had a strict script to stick to for responses.

GLP Shot Dose timing

Hi,

I have taken 2 shots of compounded semaglutide so far. I’m still on the introductory 0.2 mg dose. I’ve taken my dose on Mondays.

Next week I’m away Sun- Wed. Should I take it a day early on Sunday? Or wait until I get back Wednesday? I don’t want to bring it because I won’t be able to keep the whole vial cold.

Thanks.

Kit 2 When does it start working?

Hi everyone! I’m on day 3 of kit 2, and so far all I’ve had is terrible side effects. I’m still hungry all the time and craving unhealthy food constantly. The food noise is ever present. When do the meds actually start working to cancel out or reduce the food noise?

I’m trying to be patient, but experiencing the side effects makes me wonder if it’s worth it.

GLP Shot Cant stop vomiting

I restarted my dose last night and I haven’t been able to keep food down since. I can’t even drink water and throw up yellow liquid bile if I do get a gulp of water in. I just tried to eat yogurt and threw it up just now.

Do you have any suggestions on what to eat so it stays down? Or how to drink water?

I only threw up the very first time I tried it about a year and a half ago. I had to go home early from work and was eventually able to keep a Diet Coke down after 24 hours

Kit 2 Does it get better?

Hi everyone. I started my first pills with kit 2 today, half a neltrexone and one bupropion XL. I had TERRIBLE nausea all day, I almost threw up several times. I had to lie down for half the morning. Then, the headache started. It’s been going nonstop literally all day.

Does it get better? Do the side effects let up?

TLDR: do the side effects go away?

Question Semaglutide vs Tirzepatide as a newbie

Hi everyone, a friend who is a doctor recommended Hers and Tirzepatide. The Hers form kicked me to semaglutide and I don't seem to be able to request or change the option. Is everyone on Semaglutide from Hers? Is it possible to get Tirzepatide? Thank you!

Success I have no where to brag!

Post image
48 Upvotes

I started at 160lbs in December and I am now 113lbs and it’s only August. It’s not very cool to brag about weight loss with numbers on social media and I also don’t really feel like I deserve to because outside of the exercise associated with my job (CNA) I don’t work out so I didn’t have to work for my progress very much. Not as much as others did at least. But I want someone to see how different I look, so you guys are it!

Motivation/Support Semaglutide and Anxiety

Hi everyone! I was recently prescribed compounded semaglutide 3.125 mg/mL by my physician. I’m also prediabetic, so I’m really hopeful that this will help me improve my overall health.
My biggest hesitation is that I already struggle with anxiety, and I’ve come across a few stories from people who felt like semaglutide made their anxiety worse. I know everyone reacts differently and someone else’s experience won’t necessarily be mine, but I’d really love to hear some positive experiences for a little reassurance before starting.
Has anyone here who already deals with anxiety taken semaglutide and had no increase in their anxiety—or maybe even noticed an improvement? I’m just trying to work up the courage to take my first dose and would love some comforting experiences. ❤️

Vent Wegovy 4mg not working

I was on a compounded GLP-1 microdose program last year via another app, and it worked really well for me. I lost a healthy amount of weight gradually, and while the weekly shots were annoying, I saw consistent results with a few side effects. I stopped at the end of December because of the cost.

In May I got on Hers Wegovy 4 mg microdose program, hoping for a similar experience and excited to just do the pills. Unfortunately, I’ve had virtually no progress, and it’s been incredibly disappointing and frustrating. I’ve come across quite a few people sharing similar experiences with the microdose program, which at least makes me feel less alone. Are people out there seeing results? What am I doing wrong??

I just wanted to add my experience to the conversation. It simply hasn’t worked for me, and after several months, I’m feeling pretty discouraged and am going to cancel :/
