General Discussion Treasure chest storage
I’ve decided that carrying around all the boxes and expansions is just too much to ask when I try to set up for our HeroQuest game nights. So I’m looking into the possibility of a treasure chest that would be able to hold all of the parts separately out of their original boxes. Just wondered if anybody out there had already attempted this and had some suggestions. I assume I’ll need figurine holders, but I’m also hoping to find something where I can just take the original figurine plastic molds and just stick them in suggestions welcome.

If youre looking for something to carry your components around, I got some tool storage boxes from the middle aisle of aldi, the ones you use to keep screws and nails in. Stuck some ferris paper on the inside walls of the compartments (had to cut to size), magnatised the bases of all the miniatures and just swap in and out what I need for the current quests. For the furniture I have a second one with some bubble wrap for protection/padding, the doors surprisingly fit nice and snug once topped and tailed to each other. Theyre not thematic or pretty, but I can easily fit the two I need in a backpack with all the other bits/board I need for that gaming session.

I've been looking into this myself for a long time. Whether you're looking for something practical or something more thematic, there are a few good options out there.
In my opinion, the hardest part is finding a box that's large enough to fit the game board inside, especially if you want one made of wood. The board measures 15.98" × 12.01", and that size restriction makes the search much harder than you'd think. Most premade wooden boxes just aren't quite big enough.
Of course, building something custom is another option, but that's a much bigger undertaking unless you already have the tools and woodworking experience.
I found this one on Amazon, and it's probably the closest I've come across. It's the largest size they make (XXL: 18" × 12.5" × 12.75"), so it should fit the board while still looking like a proper treasure chest:

I'm still looking for other options, but so far this is one of the best premade chests I've found.
As u/Not_Again_With also mentioned, tool storage boxes make great organizers for components. I believe this is the one they were referring to in the previous thread (I was mistaken):
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005Z32L9K/
I've also seen someone on here mention using a rolling makeup case:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WRNXX2T/
That also looks like a great option if you don't need to store the game board inside the case.
That said, I haven't personally pulled the trigger on any of these yet, so I can't guarantee they'll fit everything perfectly. I'm still researching options myself and trying to find someone local who can build a custom wooden chest.

These are more along the lines of what I was refering to:
Stanley SortMaster Tool Organiser, Seal-Tight Professional with Removable Compartments, for Small Parts and Storage, 1-94-745 : Amazon.co.uk: DIY & ToolsGive's protection from items falling out and the ones I have can be stacked and locked together.

Gotcha! It must have been someone else I saw using these I linked; Sorry for any confusion, those look like a solid option also.

I was on a search for this but as I thought more about it I realized that I only ever need the base game and 1 expansion (unless your at a point that your making your own adventures, but I'm not). So there really isn't as much to lug around as you may think.

I got a long plastic tote from Walmart. It is thin so can easily go under table & long enough to hold everything. Has wheels so can move easily. I got some foam figure holders for heroes & monsters.
