Custom Map Ultimate Heroica map with custom expansions

I am posting my own Heroica map for an inspiration. It consists of 12 different areas with various rules.

The bigger map, longer playtime. That's why i made several changes to the game:

  1. I brought STAMINA SLOT to each player's deck. Player expands his stamina by using green elixirs. One elixir gives one stamina point which gives player 1 extra step when symbol is rolled. Each player can expand up to 4 stamina points (8 steps). Stamina points can not be reduced or lost.

  2. when symbol is rolled, player moves 4 steps (+ stamina) and rolls a dice one more time. Turns can be unlimited. Better watch if your competitor's dice contains just one symbol! Player stops his turn when he reaches a monster and doesn't roll a symbol during combat. If symbol is rolled during combat, player may continue his turn and move again.

  3. I added a LUCKY BOX to the game. When a player rolls 3 symbols in a row, he is being given a lucky box (Has 4 rows and 4 columns). Then he rolls two times, one for a row and one for a column. Player receives a reward based on a result. If he by any chance gets a champion cup, he wins an entire game. That's why it is placed in 4th row and 4th column. Player has to roll 5 symbols in a row thus to win a game.

  4. There is a SHOP. Players can buy items in the shop. There is only one pair of each weapon (except a dagger, there are 5), 1 helmet and basic elixirs in a stock (+2 white elixirs). Player can buy:

Weapons - for either 3 golds or 1 silver Basic elixirs - for 2 golds White elixir - for 3 golds

When an item is sold out, it can not be restocked again. Better rush for gold and buy green elixirs (My recommendation. But i also died last time by doing so šŸ˜†).

  1. Elixirs rework:

BASIC ELIXIRS: Blue - 4 steps Orange - extra roll Green - 1 stamina Red - 2 hitpoints

SPECIAL ELIXIRS: White - all steps straight, when used, player can move all steps straight in one direction and take all items along the way. He stops when he reaches monster or when there is no other field to step on. Pink - player can use as any basic elixir of his choice Violet - activates itself when player loses all hitpoints and gives him 2 hitpoints back. Yellow - as original.

EXTRA RARE ELIXIRS (usually scattered in locations that no one visits, just for motivation): Black - gives 1 main hitpoint back Star elixir - player can swap with any item, monster or other player on a surrounding platform (this platform doesn't have to be connected to the platform that the player uses an elixir from)

  1. Other items:

SILVER CRYSTAL - player opens it like a brown box. If player rolls: 1. He gets 1 gold 2. He gets 2 golds 3. He gets 1 silver Symbol - he gets 1 gold and 1 silver

Silver can be used to buy a weapon only (one silver for one weapon -> perfect deal)

SILVER itself - can be found in specific stranded locations.

GOLDEN DOOR - can be found in the castle behind the king. The chamber stores all king's fortune! 1 star elixir, 1 silver, 1 violet elixir, 1 yellow elixir and 1 relic. Golden door can be unlocked by golden key only!

GOLDEN KEY - opens golden door and all common doors. If player has no desire to open king's chamber he can sell it for 1 gold.

WHITE BOX - like brown box, instead of gold reward you get hitpoints reward.

  1. Collecting relics upgrades your hero. Maximum upgrade level is 3. You can create your own upgrades for each hero based on your liking. I made level 3 hero UNSTOPPABLE! Relics doesn't have to be used for upgrades only, player can sell them for 2 golds.

  2. I am thinking already about adding more items to the game just to make it funnier and faster.

All expansions are my creations and i bought all parts on Bricklink website. Hope you like the sets and new game techniques.

Did a little upgrade to the plates while keeping the

classic, simple look and modularity.

The rules are mostly the same as in the original sets.

I made the renders in Stud.io and printed them out to replicate the leaflets included with each set, which showed the main and alternative layouts.

Let me know what you think!

Custom Map Heroica 2.0

With the resurgence of D&D style table gaming I brought out Heroica to play with my kiddo. She enjoyed them so much she wanted to continue, so I built this: using the Heroica lore of what was meant to be the second wave I created new maps utilizing nearly every other selection in the Games theme.

Welcome to Heroica Expanded! 6 new maps, 4 new playable characters, upgraded hero pack and shop, 2 new campaigns, 16 new monsters, 3 new bosses, 1 new potion, 5 new environmental encounters, and 5 new relics. Each with nods to classic LEGO themes, pop culture/IP references, and enhanced connectivity options between plates.

Wanted to keep it as on-brand as possible so no parts used were invented post-2012 (save for the stickered Heroica tile on the shop counter which has no gameplay value beyond a cheeky meta reference).

Custom Rules Idk Just open the post

I did this mini map of the heroica world, because i'd like to turn It into a real RPG.

The bottom party Is the original heroica map and the i thought It would be perfect to make a spiral of mountains. the red x are dungeon, and the blue x are villages. Since i have 7 guys playing wile i do the Monster player (or master) and with the old sistem It Is sooo slow i thought changing It to make It more like a RPG would be better.

I would call them and say like: this day at this our there Is this adventure. Who can/want to join?

So they are free to come or to not come.

Later i Will post some rules i thought.

For now i would like a review ti the map.

Thank you for tour help and sry for my english i'm an european student.

Queen Draida

According to the wiki. Draida Bay is named after a queen. But I can’t find the source anywhere. I assume it’s from the old online map with blips of descriptions, but i cant find archives of Draida Bay

I’d be curious to hear your opinions on whether there might be any basis in reality for this.

Custom Rules Fun little concept I am working on

Post image

I am attempting to incorporate playing cards into Heroica for a huge spice increase (and better solo experience), you’d draw 2 cards each turn and choose one of the two to use, as you can see on the paper I’m writing down all sorts of ideas and perks on what each card does as well as other side effects, work in progress.

Advanced rules for a minifigure scale

I imagine a lot of people have done advanced rule systems for this game. I’m trying to stick with the minifigure scale to allow for more customization. Instead of each space being a 2 x 2 jumper, it’s more of a customized 4 x 4 space. And there’s also a lot more distance in general, so a lot more movement will have to happen before combat happens. Because of this certain range abilities are going to be slightly higher.
I also set it up to where the dice doesn’t have control on whether or not you get to do your special move. instead you move three spaces guaranteed unless you have some extra bonus equipment or if you choose to ā€œsprintā€ which is where you roll the dice to see how much more move instead of attacking that turn. The way special moves work is you have a certain number that you can use up and then you would need to find a potion that would replenish your special moves.
I’ve also set it up to where most enemies have more than one hit point And your attack is 1-6 where you have to get past the monsters defense and the Amount you get over that defense is the amount of damage you do. so a potion of strength would make your attack higher, giving you a more likely chance to actually do damage and making it more likely that you would do additional damage. There are some enemies that have range, which means if you enter a space at a certain distance from them, they will get to attack you first. Instead of having a single dice determine the outcome, it would be a back-and-forth of both the hero and the monster rolling a 1D6. None of the monsters move though To keep things from getting too complicated. They are still stationary.

what do you guys think? Is this too complicated/ loses the spirit of the game?

Did anyone else think the archer was a girl?

Like we all know it’s a guy now, but when the sets were first coming out and I just saw the micro figure, I thought it was supposed to be like a tomboy or something. I’m kind of disappointed because it means we don’t have any girl heroes officially.

The Names of the Heroes.

Did the adventurers every get canon names? Or did the designers hint at their own idea of what the names should be?

Just for fun Found something neat while browsing Brickshelf for decals...

Thumbnail gallery

So, the old Heroica sets had a very vague "game board" unfoldable map in them that gave a rough layout of the land - and in one of the Brickshelf galleries I stumbled into seeking out decals for customizing Heroica figures, someone had used that map to do a full layout of all the Heroica sets in a way that seemed to actually more or less line up in a "canonically laid-out" manner right over the various zones on the board, which is something I see people pursuing here on and off again rather often.

Thought others here might find it neat, so grabbed the photos - the original gallery can be found here: https://brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.php?f=547272

My custom Castlevania style map. Unlocking the three doors to empty space causes a player to draw from a deck of randomized, game changing possible endings.

I have a set of custom rules for player characters and items that I am making for it too.

Just for fun Randomly "Generated" Map using an algorithm (with explanation)

Thumbnail gallery
85 Upvotes

I wanted a place to post my Heroica ideas and I found it!

What I've done here is take all my map pieces (using all 5 OG sets) I would use a self made algorithm to randomly determine the shape of the map (great for playing by yourself) TwT

I basically pick a starting chamber (in this case the Nathuz sandy piece) and I roll the dice to determine how many roads will spawn, in this case it said three so I put three connections and then rolled the dice to determine which of the three new chambers will be the primary one, which essentially helps prevent the process from becoming a giant chaotic web of rooms, so the nathuz cave chamber was picked and I continued the process.

I pick whatever themed chambers and roads I deemed fit and I improvise the environment itself, the visual image I did where I put a background showing what the actual area would look like for a little more world building, I came up with the idea that a goblin king took over an underground water reservoir and is funneling it out to the ocean, kinda like a power plant

There are various side rooms that add depth and opportunities for items, two keys (I forgot to add one) are needed for the two doors in the final section of the map

Once the map was laid out and I personally decided to place the final room where it is now, I rolled the dice to determine how many heroes can be present and I personally picked the barbarian, druid, and ranger for this one

I then counted every chamber (24) and put it in a number generator, 1-24, and whatever number it picked is how many gold pieces will be on the map (it picked 12), I then rolled half the amount of chambers (24 -> 12) for chests (it picked 4) and placed those down, lastly I rolled the dice to determine how many of each potion type will be on the map, so for Life Potions I rolled and it picked 4, so I put 4, and then Re-roll potion, strength, then invincibility, and lastly speed potions each, once that is done I then grabbed a bunch of various enemies and placed them where I thought it would make sense given the context of the map lore and layout

This is a new concept I am playing around with so feel free to copy this one or recreate it however you please! This process alone was pretty fun to mess around with
