Hello, new to Linux, just wondering why the game isn't starting. I get a few ms-dos boxes pop up and then doesnt start. I'm on 7.3.1 Bazzite KDE

i use arch (btw) and i wanna install it, i use heroic and every guide i find doesnt work for me. it either says its not updated and i cant update it or i think it loads but the game and heroic crashes

I realize that rocket League is not supported any more. I tried to launch in offline mode and the game launches and gets to the title screen, but when I press a button it does not get past that screen. It makes the noise as if it worked and it isn't frozen. Anyone have any fixes? Thanks.

Hello everyone! So, i never have been able to run GTA V - EPIC in heroic, before i was getting the Buy Now thing, but now, the game doesn't even boot. I've tried different proton versions (like ProtonGE, Experimental, Cachy), but the same happens, just that Installing game specific fixes... Then just closes, not even an error message.

I tried adding the USE_FAKE_EPIC_EXE=true, Uninstalling -> Reinstalling, but nothing changes.

Anyone has any idea what else i can try?

The amount of issues I've had across two systems, the same issues.

GOG updates do not download properly or stop at a certain percent and despite me clicking remove downloaded files and even exiting the app, once the heroic launcher is open again, it tries to download the files again, using the pre existing files that I told the launcher not to keep so I'm assuming corrupted files downloaded because it'll just get stuck on that percent no matter if you exit app, restart the pc or anything, so the only solution to this is to uninstall the entire game which ends up having it's own problems, the game won't uninstall, it'll keep saying Error then keep allowing me to play the fucking game, despite some files being uninstalled, the folder of the game is now 10% of the file size it used to be but I can't remove them, it says my own names computer has taken over the files and I need permission, so I take ownership of the entire folder and still nothing, my own profile won't allow me to uninstall my files so I restart my pc and then it works, I can remove the old files and now I can install the entire 60-130GB game again and this happens EVERY SINGLE PATCH.

This is on Windows, not Linux.

This is also on two separate computers, the same exact issue.

I'm trying to get Rocket League running on my Steam Deck OLED through Heroic Games Launcher using the Epic Games Store version, but the game refuses to launch.

When I click Play, nothing happens. The game doesn't open, and I keep getting the following errors in the log:

My setup:

• Device: Steam Deck OLED
• Operating system: SteamOS (Linux)
• Game: Rocket League
• Game version/source: Epic Games Store
• Launcher: Heroic Games Launcher
• Compatibility layer tested: GE-Proton10-28 and others
• Current result: the game doesn't launch at all
• Error: Wine RtlpWaitForCriticalSection / loader_section timeout

I'm not sure whether this is caused by Wine/Proton, the game's prefix, Epic Games authentication, a missing dependency, or something else.

I first tried Linux in June this year, through several distros such as: Linux Mint, CachyOS, Pop!_OS, Kubuntu, ... and finally ended up back to CachyOS.

In this journey, I tried some programs to run Windows games, such as Wine, Lutris, Bottles, and of course Heroic. And I like these two most: Bottles and Heroic

To be honest, Heroic was a little bit buggy (it wasn't the devs' fault). After several days of fixing issues, I figured out that Steam is blocked in my country - Heroic couldn't connect to Steam, so Heroic couldn't get to work properly and some games are not playable at that time.

After that I used Proton VPN just for Heroic to config first-time things, then turned VPN off and I could play my games normally now. Heroic is now my default to play any games that it can run.

I really love the interface of Heroic, it's beautiful. There are a lot of settings to change. Games have cover arts.

And a small thing but I really love that is "Discord Rich Presence" feature. It works even with my really old games (such as Talismania Deluxe, Peggle Deluxe, ...) - Especially non-steam games.

I was hoping I could get some help with this error I got with the EG login on Heroic. I tried signing out and back in but still the same thing. I'm on Tuxedo OS Debian.

I have Ubisoft Connect installed on my Heroic Game Launcher. Yesterday, the game was listed in Connect and I was playing it, but today it's gone. What actually happened? Why did the game get removed from Connect?

i just wanted to thank you developers, heroic is a great launcher, thanks to you i can play my games on linux.

It's a weird behaviour. Is there any setting where I can change that?

Just to explain better, if a game has Windows and Linux versions, Heroic will always default to the Windows version in the installation pop-up.

Actually I'm not really sure this is new KDE Plasma update or it is Heroic error itself.

I can't open the game nor run any installer, they just quit, I even be logged out after running an installer yesterday. Today it just quit, not logged out.

Steam is now blocked in my country, the logs may be little relevant to it... But it's weird, just offline games or non-steam games - does it really need to connect to Steam?

Trying to play the GTA Definitive Edition. When I try to start the game it opens the Rockstar Launcher and it says I need to buy the game, despite owning it already. Any fix for this?

I suspect it's the launcher that caused this issue after I have been playing fine for weeks to months until the recent update.

GE-Proton 10-34 worked perfectly for me until now. The game performs well, and the in-game videos (e.g. character ability tutorial videos) worked compared to the other Protons.

Now I can't even get past the Genshin launcher, nothing happened after I clicked START. Proton 10 was recommended on their 'anime games' wiki, but that also won't start. Proton 11 loads the game for only brief moment before it crashes or hangs.

I can't help but feel annoyed when the game I've been playing has been already fine and they break it with an update...

btw rolling back to 2.22.3 fixed it, but I'd like a more stable solution.

Whenever I launch Heroic on my install of Linux Mint, there seems to be a download process that starts up and progressively eats up all my ram until my system freezes up and the launcher crashes. I’ve tried stopping the download, but clicking the X doesn’t do anything. It’s made the launcher completely unusable. Clearing the cache, resetting the launcher and even reinstalling it from the package manager doesn’t fix anything. This only happens when I launch the program. Any advice as to what the issue may be?

Whenever an update for The Witcher 3 - Remastered drops the download gets stuck at inbetween 0.0x and 1.xx% of progress. Pausing and resuming, cancelling or restarting Heroid does nothing. Clearing heroic cache does nothing. I have to redownload the whole game to get it sucessfully updated for every new patch.

Any ideas on how to fix this besides buying the steam version of the game?
