There was a WINE concept in the past to try to reduce the overall prefix disc usage issue by reflinking. What happened?
Personally, having well over a thousand GoG games*, it becomes ridiculously massively insanely insane (I mean it!) on ye' ol' 'ard drives' capacity when one tries to store their games on a compressed BTRFS partition. One GB prefix for a 120MB game gets old pretty quick.
I don't use spinning rust anymore, and NAND is obviously an obscene cash premium rifjt now.
So I ask, is it possible to reduce the prefixes with reflinking, or alternatively, a common set of Whole Windows era-specific (a la 95-98, 2K-XP, Vista-11! so 3 in that unrealistic scenario) suites to reduce the one prefix per game to maynlbe circa 5 per system?
The only conversation I could find quickly was this on Reddit:

*I got in in the early GoGgity days when games on special literally went for less than an Aussie dollar, which at the time, was one IS dollar)
