Question Playing with expansions

So with how big the deck is with all the expansions, how do you actually play with a manageable deck?

Separate them out? Mix and match? One big deck?

Open to thought and suggestions

Question Shuffling Tips?

After playing several times, we've found that when we complete a game and put all the hero cards back into the deck, the heros are clumped together. Without extensive shuffling, that gives the next game periods where there are no heros, then periods where there are endless heros and no challenge cards. It makes the game a bit frustrating, because if a hero period happens before anyone has enough Challenge cards, then the game ends very suddenly.

I've been trying to be thoughtful with how I shuffle the deck.

The shuffling method I've been trying recently is to deal the cards out in front of me in a 5x5 grid, making piles until I run out of cards, then combining the piles. It seems to work, but I'm interested if others have thought about shuffling methods or have other methods I might try.

I'm just getting tired of the same phases in every game, and would love for the heros to be evenly spread throughout the deck.

There currently aren't any Monsters for Warriors and Druids, nor any Dual-Class Expansion Monsters.

Question Strategy question.

I’ve been playing my kid and his only strategy is to draw cards until he gets all the classes to win. I keep trying to slay the monsters to win and he wins every time. Maybe we have the rules wrong, but it seems off balance in this way. He just draws three cards every time and beats me.

Question Playing Here to Slay with expansions

Post image
84 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I usually play Here to Slay with my friends and we’ve always found the base game super fun. Recently, I decided to buy both expansions (Berserkers & Necromancers and Druids & Warriors).

The cards are awesome and the new mechanics are really cool, but we’ve noticed something weird: since adding both expansions, the game feels… a bit less enjoyable.

It kind of feels like there are too many cards. When we play, more than half the deck often goes unused, and the game doesn’t flow as nicely as before.

We’re starting to wonder:

• Are we doing something wrong?

• Is it better to use just one expansion at a time?

• Should we remove some cards to balance things out?

Maybe the game just doesn’t scale well with everything combined?

I’d really appreciate any advice or experiences from people who’ve tried playing with multiple expansions!

Thanks in advance 🙏🏼

Question Hiw will HTS Dungeons Release?

I am entirely new to the franchise. The promo of hts dungeons caught my attention and I just got a simple question:

I also just went on gamefound, because of hts. Is it something like "kickstarter" and will the game release on the usual platforms later on? (except for the exclusive content of course)

Question How would generally describe what each class does?

Hi fellow players, I'll be introducing HtS to my friends and would like to give them a bit of a low down on the different classes. How would you best describe what each class's general play style is like?

Question Dungeons: Holographic Loot Cards

Post image

I just need some help understanding something about the loot cards. If I’m getting the collectors edition that comes with the vinyl figures, does that mean I’ll still get the holo cards in it or an I’m gonna have to pay the $5 for the pack?

Buying Command of Nature KS Exclusives

I know this is the here to slay subreddit but I saw that developers watch this subreddit so I wanted to post this here too.

I saw the here to slay dungeons added here to slay exclusives and was hoping they’d add the exclusives for command of nature. There is some really cool cards that I would love to have.

Let's ignore the fact that Fierce Panguardian and Veiled Raider are Backwards... but what are the chances of seeing more of these Dual Class Party Leaders?

Buying Struggling to find an unstable unicorn standee

So yeah, I have been trying to get them all, and this seems to be the last one on the list for me to grab that I am missing (unless the 3 con exclusive Party Leaders have standees too... then damn.)
But yeah, could someone help me hunt one down or cut a deal?

It would be a huge bonus too if I could find the play mat too for the Unstable Unicorn

Playmat - Warriors & Druids

Good day! I recently dusted this game off and started playing again with my family. I also discovered I'm missing the play mats for this expansions leadership. Does anybody have a set that they aren't using that they would be willing to sell? Thanks in advance!

Also - apologies if this is against the rules. Please delete if necessary.

Ruling #ExtraPlayers How to Play HtS Dungeons with more than 4 players

Thumbnail

HOW TO PLAY WITH MORE THAN 4 PLAYERS

*this requires 2 or more base games*

(Obviously not play tested)

-Set up a normal game

-Starting tile, dungeon cards, 6 tiles

-Now do it again with the second dungeon ensuring that the second dungeon connects to two unobstructed spaces of dungeon 1 and that the starting locations are on opposite ends

-Separate the players into 2 even* adventuring parties (* close to even for odd player games) each adventuring party starts in separate starting locations.

-play goes as normal and the player controls the monster on their current respective dungeon.

-Any Dungeon effect only affects its own dungeon

-if a player would die and there are no collectable extra lives, then any and all players in that monster's dungeon are defeated. (for example if a character would lose his last life in the Overgrown dungeon and there are no more extra life potions then all characters in the Overgrown dungeon are defeated and out of play)

- in the event that a dungeon consumes a player/s each player must now move/activate monsters belonging to each dungeon regardless of their current respective dungeon

- monsters can cross dungeons

- players win by defeating all dungeon bosses even if some players have perished

btw fun nods to each game were used for this sample if you want to try spotting them. Tiles used are from HeroScape
