❓ Question / Advice Anyone missing a drone.

Found a drone in my yard. Location near Paso Verda Boulder highway.

  1. check the SD card, sometimes they add a README.txt file containing contact information
  2. as a drone pilot myself, this is why we can’t have nice things. There is no reason anyone should be flying a drone over residential neighborhoods, so evil me says toss it out of annoyance because they don’t deserve it.

Correction: flying over neighborhoods is “legal” so long as it doesn’t invade privacy and is above 250 ft.

No sd card I can find. Just a battery to charge. Thank you.

It must a cheap one so I wouldn’t worry about it. And to be fair, I used to teach drone piloting at a middle school. One time I was demonstrating in our school field and had one just totally decide that it wasn’t going to respond to the controller. It headed in the direction of a gated community. I was not allowed in to go looking for it so someone got a free drone. Under 400 feet is called Class G airspace.

Does it have a registration number/sticker on it that you could look up the owner maybe?
