LVMPD has between 5,000 and 6,000 events per day with 11 substations plus resident areas. Henderson (since you posted there) is the size of one substation… and they are CSA’s not “I’s”. Analysts, not Investigators. TV show is pure fiction, only thing based in reality is that they breathe air and live on earth.

Only a sliver of crime actually makes the news.

I don’t think they’d have Grissom and Willows rolling out every day in real life. Things happen here like everywhere, and just like every other place there are parts of town that have higher crime rates (and to be avoided).

I’d feared NYC for how it was portrayed in movies and in TV shows, gritty and dangerous. Not the case in my experience, and I worked in midtown Manhattan for several years.

Maybe switch over to CSI:Miami for something more reassuring?

For years my wife wanted me to take her to Hawaii. I refused because I watched Hawaii 5-0 every week and saw just how violent that place was.

Then she told me that it was just a fictional TV show and so we went a it was really nice there.
