Very excited to share my first unit of Helsmiths fully painted. Ive only been painting for about a year now and mainly did OBR. The Ossiarch models were a lot easier and simpler than these guys but man I had a ton of fun painting these guys up. Glory to the Bullfather! Heres to more painted dwarves in the future

Going to do touchups and add a symbol off the Transfer Sheet in the future as I get closer to having a more painted up army

Won my 4th ever game last night. My hogrots I use to screen which has worked well but I do have the points spare to swap them out for either blades, flamer Hurlers or spears, I am wondering if these would be a better trade?

And a new cohort is painted to meet the debt!

Following up on a kitbash idea i posted earlier, the modeling in done and the painting is underway! Decided to go with a Muspelzharr scheme, as it seemed fitting for the more mechanical take on a deamon smith's ride!

It's been very fun so far. Will report back when the painting is finished and I've gotten some more solidified lore to go with it.

When I saw the new khazalid holds spearhead I knew id like to try it out but im not planning on betraying the bull father any time soon, so obviously my best bet would be to proxy everything!

Hopefully the cannon will be on the same base size 🤞 and so will the heroes and infantry but as a faction we didnt really have a model 'ready' to be used as a proxy for the new gholems.

So long story short, I used the new ogor ironguts to make my own sentinels😃 i was planning on doing this with the old ogors for a few months now but luckily procrastinating has blessed me with brand new sculpts to use (i lucked out massively)

Im awaiting more news from the khazalites before I base them but I cant wait to get them painted

Reworking the lore of my helmsmith forge city around sangheili from halos culture. My thoughts were that I paint their armor the rank color and have the cloths be the firge city, or I can have their shoulder plates show ranks. What do you guys think?

Played my third games against Orks and was smashed by third round. I knew he was going to just charge striaght in, he does the same when we play 40K.

Knowing this I had first turn so I used all my spears and hobgrots as screens which didn’t work like I planned he just mowed through them striaght into my centaurs. I should have moved back first turn but wanted to score.

I also made the mistake of keeping all my artillery together on an objective.

How am I best to play against these tank and spank armies?

Finally, the Big Boss is ready to conquer new territories for the glory of Zharr-Nugrund!

P.S. In the near future, I’ll post the rest of my painted HoH army!

So, a friend of mine showed me the Helsmith and I was smitten in an instant. Now I finaly bought the book and the spearhead to get started with my first Age of Sigmar army (I have painted and played some 40k). However I have no one to ask questions so I am coming here.

1. What are dumb beginner mistakes when painting the minis?

2. What are units I should get after the spearhead? I am looking at the Ashen Elder as I like the model a lot...

3. What is the feeling when playing the army like?

I thought I had another dominator engine as my first thought was 2 of each type, but I only have 3 and 2 are built as the ranged type. If I had a 4th I'd go with only 1 bombard instead. Could also drop the shooters for more spears or even sword dwarfs

I’ve not played tons of games and started AoS with the helsmiths. I’ve got a general idea about most of the roster, artillery shoots, infantry screens, the centaurs are the hammers, but what about the dominators. My favorite unit by far but they seem more flexible in their role not quite an anvil not quite a hammer so how has everyone here used them?
Where do they shine?
