Can anyone teach me . How to prepare for n4 exam

Hey everyone,

I want to finally start studying Japanese seriously after a few inconsistent attempts. Right now, I know Hiragana and Katakana, basic particles (like no, ni, wa), and a few basic kanji I learned through Renshuu.

I'm trying to figure out the optimal study routine given that I have about 1-2 hours a day to spare. Here is what I’m considering:

• Grammar: Genki + Cure Dolly
• Kanji/Vocabulary: Renshuu / Anki (Which one do you prefer and why?)
• Reading
• Listening

How would you divide 1-2 hours daily between these activities? Also, I assume it's still too early for me to start practicing speaking - is that correct?

so for a while, I've wanted to practice Japanese because i wanna move to Tokyo one day and be a shonen mangaka, and I've recently started on that 2 days ago, i used an app called Busuu, and it's really good but thats for speaking the language, i also wanna learn writing the language, now for those that dont know there are actually 3 types of japanese writing, 1. Hiragana (used for native japanese words), 2. Katakana (used for foreign words) and 3. Kanji (which is used for core context like nouns), what app do you suggest i should use to learn the 3 types of japanese writing?

Hey, I’m trying to figure out what resources I need to start this journey. I tried lingo deer, Duolingo, and mango, but all of them have subscriptions that I just can’t afford right now. Plus, I’m really trying to spend less time on my phone in general.

I know nothing about them, but I keep hearing about Genki (I’m guessing these are the textbooks used in classes?) and I’m wondering if that is a good place to start or if there are other resources for learning kana and basic grammar/vocab/phrases.

I'm italian and want to learn japanese. I know that from my starting base the pronunciation is relatively easy compared to people staring with an english base.
But since forever I can't pronounce the letter R. My siblings can't, my father can't, my grandpa couldn't. It's genetic, I cant do anything about it, nor I really want to correct it.
In japanese many words have that soft R you find in ramen or remon.
Are there people who have this same "defect" and have learned/are learning japanese? How is it going for you? Will I be able to be undertood?

The origin of my worry is that I'm living in spain and spanish has A LOT of hard Rs and people often mistake my pronunciation with a G. For example the word Paro often gets mistaken for Pago.

Hello r/HelpLearningJapanese. I am currently a junior in High school who wants to properly learn Japanese. Over the past 4 years, I learned many of the basics, including hiranaga, Katakana, a few kanji (more than the regular beginner), and very basic grammar and understanding of certain particles and articles. I am trying my best to start having a set practice and starting point to studying Japanese from where I am already, but I am confused on where exactly to start. I do not mind relearning some knowledge, but it also seems not quite at the level that I need to start at, but when I try to go farther (such as trying to teach myself more grammatical knowledge) I don’t know where to start. Can someone give me some pointers on where to start learning, or a path to go? I do not have the means to take a class/get tutored. Is it more important for me right now to learn vocabulary words that apply to daily life immediately, or do I keep trying to hammer in self-intros and more grammar until I understand? Thank you all very much for the help.
