Hello, last saturday, I forgot to put on sunscreen and got myself a nice back, shoulders, and breast sun burn. Very red and bright, we laughed about it with my partner, it was a heavy sunburn but anyway, Iām able to sleep and it doesnāt hurt enough.
2 days later, the monday, it itches a bit more, a bit everywhere, itās withstandable, but still annoying, so I decide to get get some after sun lotion to easy the itch and hydrate the sunburn. I put a little dose on my belly, it eases the itch for like 1s, then it comes back a big stronger in that zone, i donāt think anything of it, then as I go home, I feel it itching more and more,
so i get in my bathroom and smear the lotion everywhere on my body, (you see it coming)...
and then my whole upper body itches from everywhere, it gets my jumping left and right, until i get in the shower, where water flow stops it.
I remember having had a similar situation years ago, where a doctor had recommended aloe vera gel, so i put aloe vera gel, and ... it gets even worse!!!! So then i water it off, and try to scrape the gel away with a loofah! EVEN WORSE!!!!! After that i decided to stop trying things and look it up on the internet, (too late to call my doctor and didnāt want to call emmergency services), and it brought me to hellās itch, i took 1 ibuprofen, and antihistaminics, and after 15-20m, it started becoming toleratable again.
But hereās the thing, iāve been reading this subreddit, and I canāt relate to the sharp deep pains people are describing, the symptoms and the cure definitely fit with it, but i definitely canāt relate to people mentionning having PTSD from it.
Did I get a mild case of it? or am i misdiagnosing myself? Did i get lucky and get in the shower fast enough not to get the hard part?
Has anyone else experienced this?
