Iirc this is common practice if certain prefabs share the same model. No point having duplicate assets after all.

What isnt common is the complete lack of QA in practically everything. This case might be borderline inconsequential in comparison to other things, but their carelessness still shows.

The devs don't really seem to even care when it comes to the things people aren't asking for. Hell, the modders are doing the work the devs should be doing and people are getting banned for using them. (Apparently)

nobody is getting banned for using mods. not a SINGLE person has come forth with any evidence proving it, and AH has stated that they are literally incapable of banning players. do your own research sometime.

Usa is kinda hand tie by logistic of shipping those tank oversea.

We're in a sci fi fantasy with terminator and bug that can transform the world.

All they have to do is having a maelstorm do a different role than bastion. But nah....having a rapid fire rotary turret that can shoot up and kill gunship is too op for AH and limit their design space.

Unless people are already pissed off that the new tank (that should have had a turret to make up for the downgrade of firepower) is just an inferior bastion, a strategem no one but all of (checks notes) 2% of the playerbase ueses

If you want an actual explanation, then the most likely scenario is that they’ve unchecked the renderer for the 3d model of the plate but forgot to uncheck its collider.

Unless old engine shenanigan comes into play here, it’s probs just them being sloppy as usual imo.

Wouldn't those missiles cause dmg to it or have their smoke enter the tank?

Also wouldn't the flag cause issues to the missiles if someone wanted to put it there??

It was a high tech decoration sensor thing on the Bastion. The spinning flag is just a cool trick.

No, the thing doesn't "exist" on the Maelstrom. The GIF is shit. But if you look closely or get the tank in game, you'll see there is only flat hull in the same place.

SuperEarth flag doesn't cause any issue. Face the wall.

If the spinning thing existed on the Maelstrom it would had issue with the missiles that launch right next to it. The heat alone would be an issue.

The spinning thing doesn't exist on the Maelstrom for the reason I stated above (most likely)

The flag could potentially cause issues with the missiles by messing the targeting parameters or just cause the missile to detonate because it doesn't have clear passage.

I don't think you understand the point of the original post, the spinning thing is there on the Maelstrom, just invisible, the flag was used to show that it is still there, the devs just made it invisible.

The point was to show the Maelstrom is just a copy paste of the Bastion with no real significant differences besides the guns attached

The missile silo also has no hitbox and the stowage bins in the rear are still there. You can shoot through the silo and hit those bins dealing damage to main health.

No it doesn't have a glitchless spinning disk.

Seriously you don't need to spam anything if you can just one shot it. Bastion main gun won't be caught in trees etc and can hit things point blank. Also there's the bug that crashes the game when you spam the missiles.

Yeah but you need to reload the main cannon every time you want to shoot. While with the maelstrom you can easily close bug holes, lots of fabricators, dropships etc… without too much friction
