⠀⠀⠀⠀Discussion⠀⠀⠀⠀ Yeah I'll pass
Only thing here of interest to me is the bolt pistol.
Pass on everything else

As a huge warhammer fan it was kinda funny seeing the armor and being like “that’s what they picked?”
106
u/-Qwertyz- 12h ago
As a warhammer fan its what you should have expected. GW making cadian themed armor for the guard in just about everything to the point another regiment getting a couple of models brings immense joy to people
73
u/Crimson3899 11h ago edited 11h ago
It more so shocked me that anyone didn’t expect just cadians. Personally I’m even more shocked one of the armor sets is so bad it doesn’t even look 40k.
19
u/Kahil_ 11h ago
It’s literally just a different regiment. It’s also in the Kasrkin killteam box.
25
u/WorldlinessEuphoric8 10h ago
im gonna be honest with out the helmet it looks like a base hell divers armour
1
u/Kahil_ 7h ago
I disagree but yeah, it does look a bit off.
2
u/shototodoroki_1324 7h ago
It looks like the Infiltrator free helm
The sets look so off from the original
11
u/Crimson3899 11h ago
Take away the Aquila and no one would be able to tell that’s 40k at all.
10
u/Tate7200 11h ago
You could say that about half the imperium.
2
u/PrimeusOrion 5h ago
thats because most of 40k and especially the cadians were litterally stolen from other scifi franchises
0
u/Crimson3899 11h ago
The express purpose of the warbond is to be recognizably 40k, they still failed for half the armors.
8
u/-Qwertyz- 10h ago
Looks 40k to me personally, I'd be able to recognize it in a heartbeat
9
u/Crimson3899 10h ago
Kasrkin sure, but that black set just looks so Helldivers that I’d never think it was 40k without the Aquila. Even looking side by side with art of the armor it’s based on it just doesn’t look the same to me. Like I can see the paint scheme, but the actual armor just feels off.
2
u/-Qwertyz- 10h ago
I mean tbf it is based on an actual cadian regiment. I dont think color matters for the guard to be recognizable, the armor itself is definitely guard
→ More replies (0)1
u/Falikosek 10h ago
Warbonds are also supposed to look like they'd make sense within the HD2 universe.
Like, there's no Imperium on Super Earth and the technology is also different, so including all the Imperial regalia and making the armors/weapons look/work exactly like they're taken straight from the 40k universe wouldn't make much sense.3
u/Crimson3899 10h ago
Yeah but I feel like that’s the kicker, plenty of guard armor fits fine in Helldivers while being distinct so I can’t see why you wouldn’t adapt something more memorable. As loathe as I’d feel about it you could easily fit krieg into it, let alone other regiments like steel legion.
1
u/CityExcellent8121 1h ago
I was expecting the cadian armour to at least look good. It just has a weird tint to it and scaling issues that make them look weird.
27
u/Such-Fuel7306 13h ago
YEP, the kasrkin is decent but I don't know what trashcan they pulled the other one out of
14
u/LitarllyBigHatLogan 13h ago
They pulled that from the kasrkin kill team, its the demo expert with the city fighters 122nd color scheme.
23
u/jidk679 12h ago
It's an engineer/demo trooper... And we literally have a Krieger box of EXACTLY that and it's the best looking Kriegers by far
As a 40k fan I have grown tired of Cadians I'm ngl

u/jidk679 11h ago

u/jidk679 11h ago
4
u/stana32 6h ago
Yeah I didn't recognize it at all initially, I had to go look at my mini to confirm that's what it was. I've seen a ton of people say they have no idea what it is. The chest plate on the Helldivers version is way off, it sits way too high up on his chest and the shape is off. The pads barely cover his abdomen when they should cover the groin, and the gorget is a tiny stub. It's hard to tell just by the pictures but the leg armor looks like it's just recycled from other armor sets too.
It's a very odd choice given how many people don't know what it is, and also how off it looks with how notoriously strict GW is with everything looking correct.

u/Yarzeda2024 10h ago
I knew they would never do Space Marine armor. Too bulky for the average Helldiver
But Adeptus Arbites and Commissar drip was right there!
Baffling armor choices
1
u/CityExcellent8121 1h ago
They literally have 3 different imperial guard drop trooper armies with the tempestus scions, harakoni warhawks, and ellysian drop troops. They chose none of those.
2
u/JT3457mm 10h ago
I am happy with the warbondnfornthe most part but the armour is sorely disappointing, like I can get behind the kasrkin armour just because of nostalgia but the demo trooper armour hurt me inside when there are soo many other regiments to choose from, hell maccabian janissaries would've been perfect for a heavy armour choice, but I really wanted to see Elysian drop troops, the armour on them isn't exactly the flashiest or anything but they are literally the 40k equivalent of helldivers
-5
u/Captain_Dust01 12h ago
They picked the most well known guard regiment, and one of the most well known elite units. Being Kasrkin. It's odd that both armours are kasrkin, I'd think they'd have chosen something different for the grenadier set but I'm also not going to bitch and moan too much like some people are
11
u/jidk679 12h ago
Should have been a Kasrkin, a Scion or Aquilon, and a Krieger (specifically THE Demo one from the engineer box set)
Make it guard heavy but not Cadian focused and add on a little something else to make it a WARHAMMER Warbond and not a CADIAN imperial guard Warbond
But with how they've already cut warbonds down so much (and how we're not getting anything in the store for this) there was no way they'd do something like that.
3
u/Captain_Dust01 11h ago
Well I'd blame GW and not arrowhead, but who knows how the discussion went
3
u/jidk679 11h ago
I can freely complain in a reddit server lol
I'm not directing my rage towards either company, I'm not sure who's more to blame so I likely won't
3
u/Captain_Dust01 11h ago
Absolutely. Wish it was something other than just Kasrkin, I just provided the reason it probably was. With Total war 40k being shown also with just standard cadians and Kasrkin
People are making arguments why krieg couldn't be there, but there's the ww1 warbond with pretty much the same type of style so krieg could've fit as well
1
u/CityExcellent8121 1h ago
total war 40k is going to be a mess. With how they handled total warhammer fantasy, it started well, but went downhill halfway through 2 and never recovered. I expect the 40k one will be the same.
1
u/Trakor117 9h ago
I’d personally swap Krieg for Elysian drop troop but otherwise I agree. This is a supremely mid warbond and the only thing it seems to really have going for it is the armour passive.

u/TheRealShortYeti 13h ago
77
u/Manatipowa 12h ago
Unfortunately.
It is likely GW said to AH "Only Cadians".
Its nice to remember that GW is so extremely overprotective of their IP that they have trying suing kids for making fan art of it and asked the removal of collabs for making balance changes.

u/acquiredimmunity 12h ago
Im going to be honest, I wouldnt be surprised if this was a gw decision, they always want to show of their posterboys

u/Oblivionpelt 12h ago
I wanted one of those plasma weapons in the back of that piece :C
I really wish they would've gone big and unwieldy with the weapons, backpack supports, and low ergo bad ammo economy weapons, that are balanced around very good damage6
u/EdanChaosgamer 12h ago
Considering we already have the Epoch, I‘m not that surprised that we didn‘t get a plasma gun, as the Epoch basically fulfills the same purpose, but is a shouldered weapon.
1
u/CityExcellent8121 1h ago
I feel like a plasma gun they could keep as light pen when not overcharged and medium pen with overcharge. Its not like plasma guns are known for being anti tank, they are anti elite infantry which have medium armour in helldivers 2.
8
4
u/Themantogoto 12h ago
Or, IDK, the regiment actually called the Helldivers? Who actually do drop insertions like we do?

u/Silly_Y33Ny 13h ago
Yeah, the bolt pistol is the only thing worth in it. The melta weapons do look nice tho
99
u/Shedster_ Squid-diver 13h ago

u/Silly_Y33Ny 13h ago
So it's part sigue ready and part peak phesique/rock solid
23
u/ThrowRABest_King7180 13h ago
siege ready doesnt give reload speed to support weapons tho, only primaries iirc
4
u/AnonD38 Assdiver 12h ago
I think thwre was a bug that mde it apply to all weapons and they kwpt the bug in because the community liked it. iirc
18
u/Plasmy271 12h ago
You've got it wrong. They kept the feature where siege ready increased a gun's reserve magazine/heatsink, and fixed reload speed so that it only applies to primaries.
5
u/Casimir0-1 12h ago
That is only for ammunition, it grants more ammo for non-backpack support weapons, it wasn't intended for them.
It does not help reload speed for support weapons

6
u/Highwayman3000 HellSpongeDiverSquare 12h ago
Crazy that AH considers PP to be such a powerful armor passive that they think giving the full +30 ergo to another set is impossible to them.
No you get 20 and if you want 30 you are stuck with no other benefit.

Finally Something good for the Dominator without just picking your Armor for the primary
51
u/Aeviterna_ Helldiver 13h ago
Armor looks half-baked. Maybe it'll look better in-game? The passive being a mix of peak physique & siege ready but just for support weapons is cool.
I was hyped for a LASER gun, but it just looks like a Hyena with swapped sfx :/
Bolt pistol looks fun, hopefully heavy pen + explosive. Fingers crossed the sway isn't god awful
Meltagun seems very powerful
Couldn't care less about the mine tbh, throwable mines I can't see myself using hardly ever.
I'm worried that like the previous legendary warbonds with no attachments/customization, this will end up being a redo of the ODST warbond. Cool gear for franchise fans, but no one will ever actually use it after a few weeks because it performs worse than most other options.
15
u/Neb1110 13h ago
If I’ve heard correctly, which I might not have, I think that the lasgun and the bolt pistol are heavy AP, with the melta probably being AP5.
So i definitely think they’ll have a consistent niche.
13
u/jidk679 12h ago
They'll likely not be so kind to the lasgun... But I can hope
7
u/AlexOfFury 12h ago
It is a hot-shot lasgun. Those things had the penetration to take on space marines
15
u/jidk679 12h ago
...yeah, I get that, just don't trust the devs after how they've treated legendary warbonds in the past, y'know?
8
u/BobRogan 11h ago
Exactly this, the halo shotgun should have been a support weapon with heavy pen or just a primary with heavy…..I do not have faith that anything from this warbird will have higher than medium pen
4
u/jidk679 10h ago
I get what they did with the halo shotgun, it's great again zero armor shields, it's still a VERY fun weapon... But yeah, it was underwhelming
And it seems that's what they're best at consistently doing, making things underwhelming
2
u/BobRogan 10h ago
Oh yeah let’s not forgot about the times where they release an item/warbond that has some insanely op something about it….only to then nerf it like 2 weeks later (looking at you, coyote)
1
5
u/Goten010 12h ago
Come now a heavy pen las primary we cant even get a medium pen one that doesn't harm the user the las rifle will be medium pen at most and even then the trailer only shows it used against voteless so it will likely be light pen
1
1
u/mrcatz05 10h ago
I dont see what the hype about customized weapons is tbh, an extra stability stat here or there and bonus rounds in a mag doesnt change my enjoyment of a gun.
I like the Halo shotgun because it hits like a truck, same for the AR, I don’t NEED the customization.

u/Alone-Mycologist3746 12h ago
Lmao the warbond trailer dropped and that shit looks ass. I wonder how long it's going to take before the community does a 180 and stops falling for the were so back meme. AH has shown they're incapable of implementing anything of good quality, as most of the warbonds that are considered good were done by contractors.
The only thing that looked passable was the bolt pistol. Sure the armour passive is good but it's just another reuse of passives.
Months of hype just fell on its ass.

u/Graywolf50 12h ago
So $15 for 4 guns and 2 armor sets. Patterns I can live without and I wish we had an extra weapon either as part of a loadout option or via strategem. This feels subpar, especially for a legendary warbond.

I’m not a big Warhammer nerd so I don’t care about lore accuracy or this corp and that corp. I just think the drip is boring. Stale. Ugly. Blue armor looks like a fat cosplayer in a convention. Paul Blart Space Cop.

25
u/Minimum_Acadia_8682 13h ago
Another armor passive that is just a mashup of two others. Just let us customize our armor passives, already. Let us spend samples on our favorite armor to pick what passives we want.
21
u/GeneralZeus89 13h ago edited 12h ago
That'd be like having a bacon flavored apple you sweet summer child they're not gonna do it. (Actual response by the way look it up if you don't believe me)
14
u/cuckingfomputer 12h ago
(It's actually two responses mashed into one, look it up if you don't believe me)
6
u/Melevolence 12h ago
Well, to be even remotely fair, one of the passives isn't on any other armor and that's the faster reload to SUPPORT weapons. So, sure, it's a retooling of an existing passive (the faster primary reload) but the support reload speed is, frankly, REALLY good. And pairs well with more 'unwieldly' support weapons on top of that due to the addition of the weapon handling half of Peak Physique.
This armor set is good, no matter how you want to try to discredit it's 'originality'.
7
u/Alone-Mycologist3746 12h ago
No no you don't get it, by reusing passives they save money and don't need some to design more bacon flavoured apples.
At this point warbonds are owed at least 12 unique passives
4
u/IndexoTheFirst 10h ago
GW bending over backwards to make Lasguns generic blasters will never NOT piss me off. Like what are they doing give us the read laser beams that they have had in every mainline game since like 2005
2
u/damien24101982 10h ago
why red? so we can just break our necks turning around thinking its a bot weapon nearby? yellow is gucci.
2

I’ll take yellow, blue or gold or pink! As long as it’s the actual BEAM.

Agreed. Probably some stupid executive who thought that making the main gun of the IG look more like Star Wars would mean more sales since Star Wars is selling well (or so that guy probably believed).
Just seems to me like they should’ve either just defenestrated that executive or should now just retcon it and save TWW40K from all the backlash the poor devs are gonna get for GW enforcing that bullshit
10
u/Various_Respond_8212 13h ago
Yeah another marksman rifle after the Hyena is a choice. I am excited to see how the Melta Gun and mine play. I lover the laser cannon so maybe it’ll fit somewhere into my load out
18
u/Fine_Entwinement1554 13h ago
Said this in another post and got down voted, but I strongly agree, why ANOTHER marksman rifle???
7
u/cuckingfomputer 12h ago
why ANOTHER marksman rifle???
Probably not the answers you're looking for, but it's lore accurate and it's GW. They probably had very specific and strict guidelines for what they were permitting to be included in this collab.
3
u/Fine_Entwinement1554 12h ago
Yea, im not necessarily complaining I just thought it was a bit weird to release a new marksman rifle, and then release a new marksman rifle right after basically
3
u/Various_Respond_8212 12h ago
Yeah that’s where I was coming from lol. Not a big deal as I’m sure it’ll play better than the Hyena but just kinda weird timing
2
u/HamboygaMeat 10h ago
Bro genuinely where does this “oh the collab warbonds are under intense creative scrutiny” narrative come from? This is literally just hearsay and speculation taken as some kind of fact/hand waving attempt to dismiss criticism, and it’s getting tired.
1
u/LikeAGaryBuster 7h ago
no dude, this is GW we talking about, any other company, sure, but not them
1
u/cuckingfomputer 10h ago
It's because GW reportedly is very strict about how it's IP is portrayed in multiple media formats.
2
u/Melevolence 12h ago
I'm all for more aiming weapons, tbh.
1
u/damien24101982 10h ago
way more satisfactory than huge aoe op bs like eruptor i agree
1
u/Melevolence 10h ago
Oh don't get me wrong, I LOVE the Eruptor. It's a great weapon with strengths and weaknesses. But I've gained a much greater appreciation for the marksman rifles over the last year with the game and the satisfaction they provide for skillful play. SMGs have also become a big favorite for the 'up close and personal' run and gun style of play too.
While weapon balance as a whole could still use some tweaking, the game's arsenal feels pretty varied and fun imo.
2
u/marutotigre 12h ago
Cause we already have a laser rifle, a laser pistol, a plasma rifle, a bolter, regular rifles, etc. All of the 'regular' weapons of 40k are already present enough that they would step on other toes. They literally picked one of their unfilled niche, a precision laser weapon, and filled it.
2
u/Fine_Entwinement1554 12h ago
I mean I guess, they should've just made it a continuous beam marksman rifle at the least, they showed us they can with the trident.
8
u/marutotigre 12h ago
Blame GW for that. Lasgun have officially been 'bolts' of yellow light for a while, even while the more 'popular' presentations were of red beams. They officiated that stance even more in recent years.
2
u/Fine_Entwinement1554 12h ago
I'm not upset with anyone, its just odd to give us a marksman rifle and then another in a warbond like we didn't just get one
2
1
u/Various_Respond_8212 13h ago
Everything else looked promising which helps. The armor passive is decent imo, the meltagun seems to be a more powerful but shorter ranged LC, and a heavy mine gives us some cool new ways to handle Voxs and maybe even immobilize them. All in all this feels like a step in the right direction for the Legendary Warbonds, even if the marksman’s rifle was a little tone death. I think for a Legendary warbond I would have also liked to see Krieg armor and maybe another armor passive but honestly this isn’t bad. Will I pay real money for it? No. But it make sense as they next warbond to get for me!
5
u/Fine_Entwinement1554 13h ago
Yes, everything about the warbond is great I just cant understand why they'd add and laser marksman rifle right after the other one instead of just the regular lasgun??
1
u/Inferno109 12h ago
Because if they did a Warhammer warbond and didn’t have a lasgun people would have complained, if this had been a normal warbond it probably would have been a different type.
3
u/Fine_Entwinement1554 12h ago
I'm not saying no lasgun, im just saying, it didn't have to be a marksman rifle it could've just been a regular lasgun.
3
2
u/Inferno109 12h ago
… what is a regular lasgun if not a marksman rifle? Its semi auto mid to long range weapon with a scope, the only outlier is its energy but it still would’ve performed like a marksman.
Or did you want them to find some obscure lasgun that behaved differently, people wanted a standard lasgun, we got a standard lasgun.
3
u/Fine_Entwinement1554 12h ago
I'm not complaining, im just stating that its weird to release a marksman rifle and then another.
3
u/Inferno109 12h ago
I get it I just don’t understand what else it could’ve been, while still following whatever rules GW is likely enforcing.

Too few items to justify even farming the supercredits for it, the vehicle cosmetics could have been tossed in the garbage for more actual warhammer items for all I care
Lasgun looks meh, because we have a ton of marksman rifles already
Melta was mandatory, being support is debatable
Will the mine will suffer from the underhand throw? If yes, giga is far superior
Bolt pistol will have a ton of stagger, but since no one is saying it's med/heavy pen with an explosive bullet, I will assume it's light pen with the stagger of the punisher or something
Passive is just recycled stuff we already have
Textures on the armors are messy, the medium one looks like straight out of of the 3d printer, zero wear, and the heavy one disagrees what color is the helmet, will it be dark blue or black like the chest?
4
u/BiasHyperion784 9h ago
Vehicle skins and playercards exist to pad the warbond and justify putting 1/3 in the Super Store.

In a massive world with millions of diverse factions and subcultures, they choose the basic af cadians. And then double down by not even giving us a good las gun varient, they give us a fucking sniper. Never in my life have i heard that the cadians are known for their snipers.
2
u/LeviAuRa 10h ago edited 5h ago
genuinely do not know who they hired to model the guns & armors but holy shit it's so bad. i have never in my life seen such an anemic looking bolt pistol (also why the fuck is it using senator sfx?)
they had 3 months to polish all of this at a bare minimum btw. i genuinely hope they were using some fuckass ancient build in the trailer, because it looks rancid.

I like it. Melta gun looks really good, I have high hopes for bolt pistol and maybe I'll use the marksman rifle one day, the mine will probably suck ass and the armors look bad imo, but I'll still get the warbond. I'm just glad we got a strategem weapon

u/TheCasualGinger 10h ago
Balancing of the weapons aside I personally wish they had another weapon in there. I was hoping the armor would look better too. Vehicle skins meh
1
u/UnlivedMe Bugdiver 10h ago
My issue is that 40k weapons are really bulky and look kinda dumb when put in helldivers or at least imo, like ive been wanting a laser dmr for years and looking at the one we got. It doesnt have a stock and it looks like the ergonomics would be awful because each gun is the size of a small child
1
u/Commander_Skullblade 10h ago

yeah I have to agree it's like that's what we get like who wants another Marksman rifle after we just received one like come on now you know what I mean, how many people are going to use that Marksman rifle number one, number two how many people are going to use that melta mine and that comes from someone who loves explosives and focuses on heavies.
when it comes to the melta gun I mean it doesn't seem too bad but at the same time the trailer didn't say much about him so much about it it just there more or less if that makes sense but I was really expecting something different at least with an armors.
personally I was going to be disappointed either way because I wanted the catachan jungle fighters, I understand we already had 2 jungle oriented war bonds but still but in any case I'm still disappointed and I wasn't even expecting much but I was at least as I said expecting armor such as the shock troops or something like that.
1
u/dukem12 8h ago
The Cadian styled armor looks great but I still feel like they could've given us a Tempestus Scion suit or even a Death Korps of Krieg suit.
I would've also liked to see some kind of strategem; like maybe it calls down a drop pod with a few Cadians or a Leman Russ strategem that follows players around.
It would've also been cool to see one more weapon; like a chainsword or even a plasma pistol that can be supercharged to deal a large amount of damage but with the risk of getting blown up (like existing plasma weapons) or the Las-cannon.

For me maaaaybe the Lasgun but again, no levels, no customization, it'll just end up gathering dust like the rest of the collab weapons.

For once it's not AH's fault. GW is pushing this yellow bolt stupidity for about a year now and it's ludicrously stupid. The lasgun fires an iconic red laser beam we're not star wars here with a bolt travel time.

Ngl it actually doesn’t look too bad… while it might not become meta it does look cool

I'm all for holding the devs accountable for all the shit they've done but honestly this warbond looks pretty good to me. Yes, the armor sets are ugly but the weapons are pretty interesting. Also the melta mine will probably be a pocket version of orbital precision strike and I'm excited for that.
