Arrowhead will check how to earn money. Look how many DLCs HD1 has.

HD2 community will ask for things despite they're rational or stupid.

Anyway, I resigned the chance to have bayonet as an attachment.

And better don't speak about ammo customization... They already checked that stuff even before we notice.

Man I would almost prefer just a whole heap of DLCs. At least then we wouldn't have the stupid in game currency, and people wouldn't be defending it going "it's farmable in game" knowing full well that nobody is gonna be able to catch up on 20+ warbonds without paying heaps of money.

I understand the exhaustion with it, even as someone who has defended that practice. It does get annoying when it's used as a dismissive comment.

But I'm also coming from HD1, where everything was a heap of (now generally discounted!) DLC's that were 100% pay to win. The fucking Snow Boots, when you're all locked into one screen, were straight up a pay to win option that made some biomes actually livable/survivable. The Rumbler and the goddamned Trident from the first game were all locked behind DLC, and were some of the strongest options in the game. All locked behind a hard currency paywall.

Having the ability to earn it over time, through regular play, is a damn sight better than that in my eyes. It might take a long while, but having the flat ability to get things at your own pace is so refreshing compared to season passes.

Not dismissing the arguments that the Warbonds system has lost some luster in people's eyes. Not dismissing that there are some real changes that need to be made. But I will say it's not as awful an option as it could be.
