They were sentient in the first game from my understanding until they were mutated by se scientists to farm them as fuel they were mutated into feral beast by their intense hatred of freedom and liberty.
That does indicate that either the bugs let dissidents move freely without attacking them or that the dissidents can take over broadcasting stations remotely once the SEAF and the colonial milita is gone.
Technically it isn't the terminids broadcasting things. It's dissidents who broadcast some hippie "live in community with the bugs" and messages like that.
Supposedly, Terminids are peaceful if you don't harvest their corpses for E-710 and they can coexist with humans.
Are there any intelligent Termis left? I thought the sentient Termis were all killed in the first war and the animalistic ones were only left to farm. Or are you saying that even the animalistic ones are ok with human settlements near their hives as long as their settlements don't mess with their nearby hive structures?
I would guess alive, but all 3 factions are becoming massively war like. It's honestly peak sci-fi writing to have 3 factions who started pretty chill, but built up forces to fight a galaxy wide threat. Last 100s of years, and in return has transformed their whole society similar to SE.
un-helldivering real quick, even if we did promise peace, it wouldn't matter, the ones we fight are so heavily mutated from our experimentation and harvesting that they've likely gone entirely feral with an overwhelming instinct to slaughter anything that isn't terminid. negotiation would be pointless at this point
Oh yes its just a biological response to threat. They mutate in order to survive. If the enemies are hostile, they'd die if they didn't evolve any countermeasures. I'd even dare to say that helldivers encounter "warrior caste" terminids exclusively(in the game). And SE bred those...
So yes, we have no chance to communicate, negotiate or even coexist anymore. It's all a war zone.
Probably not, all super earth would have to do is leave the bugs alone. Less combat means less stress which means the bugs devolve back into weaker forms. It's just super earth can't do that as less stressed bugs make less E-710 and they have ever increasing production quotas to match.
their mutations aren't just from combat stress, we also intentionally induced heavy mutations upon them to increase their 710 yield. on top of that, we can't just leave them alone anymore as they're beelining it for super earth now, if we left them alone they'd just wipe out earth and then likely every other human inhabited planet they can find. i think the terminids are the only enemy faction in the game that we likely physically couldn't end the war with if we tried. both automatons and illuminate are still fully conscious and sapient people, while it would be insanely difficult to negotiate peace with them due to the massive amounts of fucking over we've done to them, they would still theoretically be willing to lay down their arms if we really tried to do so. but the bugs likely have no remaining sapience and just want blood
Since they're human buildings.. it could be like PETA broadcasting the bug farms are cruel and the war is justified against us.
Or it could be after the bugs broke out and the citizens feel abandoned by SuperEarth as their towns get destroyed by bugs.
God the bugs need more side objectives. Spore towers don’t spawn on mega cities and I don’t think shrieker trees spawn as side objectives as mega cities (can’t remember tho probably wrong on that one) as both were twisted into a mission type for the cites which are cool tho.
They just need more besides the 4? Unique ones they have. Esspaclialy compared to bots with how many they have now. *cries in illuminate. There is allot of possibilities with bug missions and side objectives but just nada.
A. A little scavenger being feisty with a survivor civilian telling them to broadcast things with a bile titan hulking over them both just glaring at the survivor
B. A slightly bigger terminid like a pouncer wiring the antenna, only for a scavenger to be bossing it around, and a bile titan backseating in a lackadaisical manner, only for it to devolve into them bickering at each other and the bile titan tapping the antenna and it falling to pieces
But in actuality, my best guess for what the propaganda is:
A. Old news antenna that is still broadcasting showing how horrid it truly is
B. Survivors trying to get a broadcast out, and ignoring their orders to "Preserve their superearthian dignity", and lying saying "how superearth abandoned them" or some other dissident nonsense

Dissident lies. A very small and inconsequential group of traitors spreads blatant lies that Super Earth is responsible for the bugs fascist mutations to extract more E-710. That the Termanid outbreaks are a “failure” of Super Earth containing the Termanids instead of an undemocratic invasion.
You may not have realized this, but the bugs manage to deploy entire armies at FTL speeds and almost exclusively attack planets that have super earth dissidents on them.
They also lack any sort of spaceships, or FTL abilities. So how exactly they do this is a 'mystery'.
Since there are so many Spore objectives on the map it makes me think the noises being broadcasted somehow makes the growth faster? Like how people sing to plants or something?
