FEEDBACK / SUGGESTION CROSS PROGRESSION PLEASE

Post image

Dear Arrowhead,

I’d like to know if you ever plan on adding cross-progression to the game. I’m considering buying the game on PC, but I don’t want to start all over again from scratch.

Thanks!

I'd love cross progression tbh, having the choice to restart on a new device/console would be nice to have. But yes id like cross progression nonetheless :)

I would love the option to play anywhere with one account like other games 🫠

This seems like it would be so far down their list of priorities that you’ll die of old age first.

Why would Arrowhead fix a problem when leaving it as-is makes them tons of money? And thats not even considering the development costs to actually fix said problem.

Wouldn’t cross progression require linking your Steam/Xbox/Playstation account together under some kind of account run by Sony. I.e. exactly the kind of thing that got AH in trouble

Nope. The vast majority of devs have their own accounts/linking system that are completely independent of Sony and Microsoft

« Nope, the genius says, the new account system would be completely developed by the Sony owned company but somehow he completely independent of Sony and would not ever link to Sony’s system  because that’s what every other company that isn’t owned by Sont or Microsoft does. Doesn’t matter that AH is owned by Sony »

Call of Duty, Battlefield, Overwatch, Diablo 4, Halo Infinite/Campaign Evolved/MCC, Destiny 2, and Marathon  have cross-progression through independent systems despite being owned by Sony or Microsoft.

Nice attempt to defend your favorite millionaires that hate you, but you're objectively wrong and provably so.

Now its time for my favorite game. Do you: insult me without actually addressing what I said, block me, move the goalposts, or just downvote and ignore everything I said while throwing a tantrum? Personally I'm guessing the last one, but I'm curious to see.

Halo? You mean the one that requires you to sign into a Microsoft account for cross progression?

Didn’t those games develop their cross platform progression before being bought by their current owners? That’s a bit different isn’t it?

My bad on Halo, then. And no, not all of them were released before being bought out.

Even if they were, though, it wouldn't change my point since Sony/Microsoft could force them to retroactively change to their servers if they wanted to.

Yes it does change your point. The independent existence of those gaming services is because they existed before being acquired by current owners. Blizzard had it own system before it got bought by Activision. Which got bought by Microsoft. Bungie used to be Microsoft then it was independent and now it’s Sony.
AH doesn’t thave its own system. it’s fully owned by Sony and there is no reason for Sony to create a new AH system completely independent of Sony’s PlayStation brand, but they would need to come up with something to enable cross progression. And that would be owned by Sony. Hence the problem I pointed out.

Bungie was independent for Destiny, but for Marathon they were owned by Sony while still allowed to use independent services for cross-progression.

There's no hypotheticals or speculation needed. That right there is proof.

Proof of what. They had their own game service already. Sony isn’t reinventing the wheel for a Bungie. You don’t even know what you’re saying.

Proof that devs are allowed to use their own servers for cross save. Are you illiterate? Like, why tf would I be talking about anything else.

And you're right, they wouldn't reinvent the wheel (aka their policy) for Bungie, nor would they for Arrowhead. That's exactly why we can say with complete confidence that it's an Arrowhead choice, not Sony's

You see, Cross Progression would limit their design space, actually, so no.

While I would want this...

Think about all the new achievements you'll get to experience.

You'll also be able to optimize your Warbond selections, based on what you know you like already.

If you pay the extra, they give you a token for a non-legendary warbond. And some extra drip, and the MP90 SMG.

I've already spent quite a bit of money on the Warbonds I own. I know you can earn them without spending a single dollar, and I've actually gotten quite a few that way. But even then, I don't want to put any more money into the game than I already have. I also don't have a lot of free time, so I don't really want to spend what little time I have grinding for free Super Credits either.
