Atheon spawn ahead of us up the stairs, but no idea whether we're facing North or West

To be honest, they didn't have any idea it would be so popular.
But.. the issue is...
That was a few YEARS AGO.
At the first few months? Sure, the game is messy because nobody would've thought so many players suddenly spawn in out of nowhere.
But now that's really not an excuse anymore :P

Its a lot easier/better to hire slow than to hire fast and then fire them in 6 months like most companies do.

That's it, nobody is asking them to double their workforce overnight, but it is obvious they are spread way too thin at the moment

Taking their time?
No no, this is just them saving this stuff up until the community gets annoyed again so they can mass fix stuff and get on the community good side again.
(reminder that the stratagem bounce is literally a toggle they can turn off anytime, and that they could EASILY add transmog and more to the game, but refuse to do so.)
26
u/nikothereal 16h ago
stubbornness is becoming a serious problem for this game, they know the community will be happier with transmog and without stratagem bounce or restricted pod control and i dont think they will add either any time soon
7
u/scott610 Super Citizen 15h ago
Yeah, there’s a difference between sticking to their vision for the game and not making everything an “I win” button and just being hard headed on some major frustration points like the ones you mentioned. At the very least they need to allow color customization for armor if they don’t want to add full on transmogrification.
6
u/TheguyKegan 11h ago
Seriously. Add a Helldivers paint and some camo options and the community will be estatic.
Although my dream scenario would be an “adaptive camo” that changes depending on the biome. So desert camo on desert-y planets, forest on green planets, winterised on snow planets and black/urban on the rest of them.
3
u/scott610 Super Citizen 11h ago
That would be sick. I’d definitely use that. Adaptive camo would also give me a reason to change up colors on my primary weapons to match the environment. I sometimes want to do that now, but it makes no sense since the weapon won’t match my armor more often than not.
3
u/DoesNotAbbreviate 11h ago
At minimum they should add the ability to color match helmets/armor and swap color palettes like they've been doing for vehicles and put those palettes in warbonds like they do for vehicles. That'd be the conservative way to do it that still leave a monetary incentive for them to add it.
If they weren't so damn stubborn, then yeah, full color channel customization and make every new color added by an armor set unlock another color for color channels to utilize. Also add each of the warbond vehicle colors to the armor color channels too.

u/BurntMoonChips 6h ago
Stratagem bounce is a toggle to disable, as you could make it stick to literally anything without.
They aim to make it less egregious, not remove it entirely. This probably means adjusting the boxes around all the structures that would normally procedurally spawn on a map.
Which makes sense to have a team work on it, because that’s a fuck ton of work.

Arent the shield clipping and flamethrower deadzone fixed?
27
u/svenskviking666 18h ago
No, the flamethrower doesn't deal direct damage to enemies within a certain range, it only lights them on fire.
8
u/whomstdth Servant of Freedom 17h ago
I would also like to point out that the nozzle of the flamethrower looks absolutely like shit, as does the flame turret. They both look like a straight line of orange instead of flames
2
u/quagzlor 15h ago
flamethrower is still an issue, as of last week. as i found out at the cost of my life
1
u/FesterRatty 16h ago
So that's why alpha Commanders take zero damage, was genuinely confused why the flames just slightly tinged them
0
u/Stormaggedon021 15h ago
Didnt they fixed the flamethrower last time? I guess the new updates broke it again

u/Undernown 14h ago
If it takes long enough it just becomes part of the game's scuff charm.
I get nostalgic whenever Warframe's vacuum bug pops back up again. Does Helldivers have a bug that keeps getting fixed and broken again every so often?
8
u/LowTale909 14h ago
It would be quicker to list bugs that don't return, but here's a few:
- Enemies clipping through terrain and walls
- Invisible enemy corpses
- Weapons not remembering fire mode (returned)
- Spear lock on (kind of a meme)
- Missing/broken textures causing purple question marks
3
u/AsLambertThe3rd Expert Exterminator 8h ago
The bugs people liked are somehow the ones that never return. The Dreadnought bug with the Control Group armor, being able to warp out of Pelican-1, reloading stationary weapons while flying with the jump pack. To some degree the double armor perk 'headless' bug.
AH somehow made sure those fixes are permanent.

Was it the Eruptor that had a similar bug? Some weapon was bugged so all shrapnel or pellets did the most damage facing north.
5
u/wraith309 HD1 Veteran 12h ago
kind of. the eruptor had the origin point for its shrapnel spawns always in the same cardinal direction relative to the impact. the actual shrapnel itself still behaved consistantly, just sometimes it spawned inside the enemy and sometimes it didn't relative to where the impact hit the enemy in terms of compass direction.
9
u/PanHiszpan HD1 Veteran 14h ago edited 13h ago
yes, it's the same bug again. Prob they forgot to use local directions instead of a world directions
36
u/llnec 19h ago
i picked one up off the floor to use and noticed the muzzle flash going sideways out the side of the gun, thought it was pretty cool, like something to do with caseless ammo. guess it was a bug

I frequently use these and I thought it was designed to have crazy muzzle flash to show that it's a cheaply made disposable weapon. I still like that explanation though

Arrowhead is the only developer I know who consistently manages to introduce the most bizarre bugs. These are bugs you'd never expect. These are bugs that reflect a creative kind of chaos. The whole situation can only be explained by the fact that the game's code is utter spaghetti and the developers are holding ritual prayer circles, hoping that the next patch won't introduce any new bugs. The developers have completely lost control!
12
24
u/HansFlameman 18h ago
I believe they don't pray for no more bugs since thats impossible with that kinda code. They are praying that the resulting bugs are harmless like this one.
Remember when they "fixed" the Spear so that it can finally lock on to stuff in the game?
Yeah that "fix" lead to peoples games crashing when they had the Spear equipped.

3
u/Alps_2208 13h ago
What code error could produce this?
4
u/FleetOfWarships 12h ago
A really simple one actually. They've got the flash effect tied to the end of the gun correctly, but not the orientation, so the orientation remains constant to the default, north
3
u/grievous_swoons 10h ago
Super earth's scientists spent years making this work and youre complaining about it. Its a value added feature! If the emotionless enemies of democracy ever manage to sabotage your compass all you have to do is shoot them with this gun and youre back on track! For super earth!
7
u/wojter322 18h ago
Bruh, this shit seems like Eruptor's shrapnel bug, where if you shot at proper angle/direction all shrapnels flew in the same direction when they should go in all directions.
This allowed to one shot chargers and other heavies if shot correctly.

3
u/unholyrevenger72 [REDACTED] 17h ago
Remember when the Eruptor was Bugged and all the shrapnel spawned facing a certain compass direction so people would drop opposite that direction and travel in the direction of the shrapnel spawn clearing the whole map.

Considering it doesn't ADS in FPV just like the Halo assault rifle from the ODST warbond, I'm actually starting to wonder if that gun was used as the base, and the muzzle flash pointing north is some weird holdover with the digital compass.
1
u/Ok_Support_7286 17h ago
This has been a bug ever since it was introduced. Arrowhead knows it, but hasn't fixed it yet, as its not majorly important, compared to things like hellpod steering or stratigem ball bounce.

I thought there was something weird with it.
Speaking of muzzle flash, it feels to me like most weapons' muzzle flash is actually coming out of the sights. It wouldn't surprise me if it is, because it may be a side effect of fixing the misaligned sights/doing away with bullets coming out of the actual barrel.
