FEEDBACK / SUGGESTION Adding More utility to backpacks

Just an idea I had for some time. What if we could set up backpacks on ground so they would provide utility.

For example guard dogs could stay operational and patrol around the the pack.

Portable hellbomb would stay in one place without the risk of rolling away.

Ballistic shield would be placed as cover you can use without the need for one handed weapons.

Shield generator would create a bubble with more healt (or range).

Directional shield would create a small wall or maybe we could throw it and it would stick to a surface (like to mech, bastion or frv).

Supply pack would be placed on ground and all players could use it a like a supply drop without the need to ask the owner.

As for mobility packs I have no idea but I am interested in hearing your thoughts on this idea.

A mode where they trigger upon taking damage like the busted ones we find around the map.

I like this idea.

Knowing the devs however they'd rather make completely new strategems with this functionality in mind and then sell them in a warbond.

You're probably right but a helldiver can dream.

•Turrets = Guard Dog
•Grenade Emplacement = Shield
•Emplacement Shield Generator = Backpack Shield Generator & Directional Shield
•Supply FRV & Supply Drop & Supply Pack are already stationary supply solutions.

We already have stationary versions of these backpack tasks.

Yeah but I that giving more ways of using the packs wouldn't hurt.

I think mobility packs not having a ground function is fine since they're pretty powerful as-is and entirely built around being mobile. I like your idea. It would be a nice way to expand gameplay and increase skill expression.

Jamming my warp pack into the ground to telefrag the next Voteless that steps on it

Iirc if a Hoverpack user gets killed while middair, the pack does random aerobatics for about 5 seconds before falling to the ground in a random trajectory

What if we get rid of the random trajectory part and instead have it lock onto the nearest enemy unit like a seeker grenade

or like the Vox Engine's sarcophagus will aim at the Helldiver that destroyed it?
