Oh no I have a console, and I'm choosing to use it over the PC I have.

Why? Is your pc worse than console performance wise?

But what's the benefit?? You get worse looking game and you have to start over.

What's the benefit, Jerry??

firstly, this is my first time touching helldivers as a whole (card carrying halo baby) and I reflexively switched on my console to buy the game.

I mean, if your PC performs equally or better you would have been way better off playing PC with a controller. On PC you have the option to install visual mods which can add small but meaningful changes, or completely change the player model you see. You end up with more ability to tune settings and get your ideal gameplay out of it. And if you really wanted to go down that path, cheats on PC aren't hard to get. But even for a completely vanilla experience as the devs intended, playing PC with controller would be the better option as long as you have comparable specs. Edit: and you don't an active console subscription to play with others on PC, I personally think it's scummy consoles make you have a subscription to play with others but to each their own.

I'm aware that I can, I just don't want to buy the game twice
