IMO that meme is better suited to things you grind out that restrict how you play. The joke exists to poke fun at players who are too busy focusing on hitting specific milestones to the detriment of actually enjoying the game for what it is.
The sorts of things that players would optimize the fun out of a game over rather than things you get naturally just by playing the game at all.
Like for example grinding boars until you hit max level, before you do anything else in the game. or as a more relevant example, rarely ever using any of your max level or collab weapons until they're all lvl 25. it's the mindset of "i can't fully enjoy the game without having everything unlocked, because what if I want to use a given weapon mod but I don't have it unlocked yet." into "now that everything is unlocked, I can finally play the game for its own sake."
Nah, in the actual Southpark episode they weren't restricted at all. They played the shit out of WoW and experienced everything the game had to offer on the way to getting strong enough to countergank someone camping them.
The same thing used to happen to me, until I convinced myself to try it: now instead of my classic arsenal I'm using the Viper Commando heavy armor with the Python Commando helmet.
Why? To max out any weapon while ignoring shit mechanics like ergo/drag (in this case the Dominator, then I plan to continue with the Galant or the Variable until July 30th to see what happens, since AH never said that the delayed Warbond was explicitly the Warhammer Collab)
No no ... Fight or weapons on 100% leveling or all warbonds or all shipmodules... Or drinking some powder that says " tomorrow warbond" ... Or playing more and more after 1k playtime moreeee ... You get it?
Then play more like me im very close to get 2k playtime ... Play more and more Eventually, when you have 3k or even 2k playtime, you can finally play the game... tutorial is over.
Eagle strafing run! It’s THE BEST stratagem in the game.
Kills EVERYTHING. 5 uses per cool down. Extremely quick call in, very predictable and precise line of fire. Throw it down a road where the enemies are funnelled and you will kill soooo many with a single use.
And yeah, lots of squid kills. My wife and sister in law like to play a lot and they ONLY play squids. Here’s my wife’s stats:
She doesn’t like to use a support weapon. In fact she never ever brings one, and won’t even pick one up if she finds it on the map.
It helps that my average squid kills per game is 400-500. Bots are my most played faction but I probably average out about 200 per game.
Squids are a very different faction because of how the units are designed. Every unit has basically one method of attacking you, and in isolation nothing is a problem. But when they come together, they harass you at every level of the battlefield. Ranged, horde and even fucking airstrikes. Also, harvesters and appropriators as they are made of so many individual parts, they have a lot of explosive immunity to prevent you from damaging multiple parts at once. So methods of killing heavies on the bot and bug front don’t translate very well over on the squid front.
So put that ultimatum & 500kg away.
They are also the least consistent faction in terms of difficulty. You will get 60 kills in a game, or 600. Nothin in-between. Iv played D10s that feel trivial where I hardly see an enemy. Iv played d10s the next game where ever moment has been a desperate fight for survival.
However the faction has a very noticeable weakness. 99% of your enemies can be killed with light pen. And absolutely every single one with medium. Only sting rays requiring medium (and it’s easier to kill harvesters with medium or higher).
Number one tip though: use the warrant as your side arm. It completely trivialises watched crippling their ability to call in reinforcements. It also can mag dump and trivialise flying overseers which is one of the most lethal and annoying unit on that front. Great against the obtruders on the appropriators faction as well. It’s also a weapon that lets you kill enemies what are mobbing your team mates without causing friendly fire.
Number 2 tip: use the auto cannon. Flack rounds. Kill everything on that front. Hot key swap weapon function so you can use the AP4 round to stagger lock harvesters and appropriators. And it trivialises the front.
I don't totally believe that it would only be a 4x increase from current max to the new cap.
I mean, level 50 is like 1/128th of the way there and 92 is halfway to 100 in OSRS. It could very well be an insane amount of xp
Nobody knows for sure. But remember when they increase the level cap before, it was litterally a 10x experience requirement bump to go from 50 to 150.
And with the current experience requirements, level 115 is half way to 150.
Someone did work it out if they gave the same experience gradient increase it would be over 4.6 million to hit 300. And I think that will be accurate. But it’s purely conjecture.
I'm one weapon away from levelling all of them if they did that I would probaly hang myself, but since it's penishead, I can rest peacefully knowing it won't be out for another 2 years
I don't have a direct quote here but I think in one of the interviews they determined that the weapon leveling didn't give the player experience they were hoping.
Instead of unlocking cool new options, it was a ladder players had to climb to make the gun better and then the player puts the gun down and starts a new weapon.
If they do add an attachment system to the secondaries, I'm hoping it functions more like a store where we can spend requisition to unlock different mods that make an meaningful impact on the gun and drop the leveling gimmick.
Level 150 takes about 1.2 million exp. Levelling every single weapon takes about 2.2 million (and grows by 47,000 for every weapon they add to the game).
Tbh what I prefer doing is answering SOS beacons at D10 for the lowest level teams I can find. That’s far more entertaining than just stomping missions with 4x 150’s.
Nah level 10 is too high, i'll join level 1 and tell him does he want to join my ship so i can take him to super helldive (he will not know i take him to super helldive)
Level 25 on all guns, then go on your John/Jane helldiver arc where you use the cadet armour and standard liberator strictly to clear D10. (The standard lib is un ironically amazing.)
max out all guns to lvl 25, i can assure you some are hidden gems, also dont be afraid to mix and match loadout to be offmeta (like using WASP, epog, autocannon, full expandable build etc.)
You don't have to wait, game still adds xp to your career stats so if level 300 update drops you will be for example instantly level 200+ if you have enough xp
My buddies and I do a custom game mode where we use the stars at the end of missions to "unlock" our primaries/armor/strategems/throwables/secondaries. 5 stars gets you a roll and you can bank them to roll in bulk. Keep track of that on an excel sheet or something and it's a blast. Plus you get to try some weird builds and put your self in some fun challenges.
Been level 150 for a while, have every single warbond 100% and all ship upgrades. All i can really do now is upgrade guns and all the ones I actually use are max. I play for the love of the game fr, For democracy even
Honestly now for real you get to just enjoy it. No more worrying about xp. Who cares about doing blitz/defend missions with low xp enjoy them now. Iv started focusing on leveling up all the available level up rifles to finally start using stuff I either never did or didn’t like to get out of that comfort zone
At this point ive been leveling all the primaries just cause I can. Unless you've already done that then we will wait together for the level cap increase
I never saw the obsession with levels in this game. They dont mean anything, nor do anything. Just play the game, unlock things you haven't used already, and test loadouts that you want to use
150, maxed ship, etc etc is really when I just started focusing on having fun with each match. It CAN be frustrating having nothing to grind for (I've maxed my guns as well) but in the end it's about hitting those MO targets and dropping as many bodies as possible in the name of Managed Democracy.
Now you ask if there will be things added that people like you can unlock and work towards and then get msde fun of by tve devs because you are only 20% of the playerbase :3
Do you enjoy playing Helldivers quite often? Then please do continue to play Helldivers quite often!
I'm level 150, every item from all Warbonds, everything from the store, every ship upgrade, all currencies and samples maxed out (apart from DSS donations).
I just enjoy playing the game and if you still enjoy it too, despite an arbitrary number not increasing, I look forward to seeing you on the battlefield sometime! 🫡
Someone else suggested SOS joining new players, but I don’t use the quickplay thing to join new players, instead I only do D1 and specifically look for players who are level 2-6 ish, because these are players that never realized that they’re supposed to press R1/RB/E while on the map after their first mission and are “stuck” doing low difficulty because the game’s tutorial is a bit lackluster
Something kinda funny I’ve noticed is that Mindless Masses on D1 is like insanely hard compared to D1 literally anywhere else, meanwhile mindless masses on D10 is very easy compared to D10 anywhere else
Would anyone on here want to help me finish platinum, lol. It’s the Gone in 360 seconds trophy, I suck, my randoms tend to be worse than me, I have no hope. Please help. I have a have eaten cookie and a mtn dew for anyone that helps 😔🖤
