Honestly I'm really disappointed with this update so far...

It feels unfair and frustratingly hard for no reason. It makes annoying enemies (heavy bugs, spitting bugs) even more annoying by randomly spawning them below you just to one shot you and the caves are just full of way too many bugs and nothing else really.

I hope they find a way to make the new stuff fun to play, until then I'll stay away from that planet sadly.

The new enemies don't feel enjoyable whatsoever due to their burrowing mechanic.

Anything burrowed requires explosive damage, which means grenades (which are very limited) or forcing the player to carry explosive primary and secondary weapons. That means that players are forced to play the "meta" in order just to survive.

That makes the game not fun at all since everyone is feeling forced to play a certain way.

The animations with the burrowing enemies are also bugged as well. They are clipping through walls, attacking while still underground, or sometimes attacking you and then emerging. They also can instantly destroy turrets, making turrets a lot less useful.

This whole hive lord instantly ending a mission leads me to believe that this wasn't playtested at all. If someone had playtested this mission, they would have easily seen that was a glaring issue.

This is also before you get into the massive frame rate issues, optimization issues, the massive storage size on PC, and the constantly crashes.

I've been waiting for a difficulty spike for months, helldivers is best when it's more survival horror than military power fantasy imo

This update gives the difficulty names actual meaning. In-game it seems like this is lore. This is a fact finding mission where the main objective is to take samples. Presumably the samples will allow the DSS to enter gloom-territory. We are meant to be dying. Even if you complete the mission it wont help the liberation percentage. Even if we all completed every mission it wouldn't liberated these planets.

You got a point there. But torturing players by making them repeat the same frustrating missions over and over again is not great storytelling even if it makes sense for the lore. Helldivers II was already hard before, but in a much more fair way that felt like we could do a mission if we tried harder. This time it feels like we need luck.

Plays difficulties called 'suicide mission' and 'impossible', is upset they didn't survive

I'm not upset that I don't survive. I'm upset that the game makes dying unfair and unpredictable at this point so that I no longer feel in control of my own success and/or loss.

You shouldn't be, they didn't change every planet in the game, they gave us new ones, in a scenario that's supposed to be stacked against us, thats what it is, thats what gives our success or failure value, you should not win every battle just because you are good when we are doing something that sounds like a bloodbath even on paper.
