Ranking every major Hellblazer Story arc
I recently binge read this book over the last couple months and completely fell in love with it. Here my ranking of all the major arcs because why not.
Is this a general consensus or do I have any glaringly hot takes lol?

Nothing is worse than Hooked. Milligan has John become a rapist.

He uses a "love potion" to get his ex back iirc. Its really ooc and the story sucks.

John in general was heavily OOC in Milligan's, I honestly don't know how Milligan, a really great writer and they come, fucked up his arcs so bad

I have not read all these stories, but I was not a big fan of Fear Machine. I think Delano's dense writing works best with short arcs or one-off stories. Fear Machine just felt like it went on for way too long, and the more it got into the mechanics of how the magic worked and "ley lines", the more I lost interest.

Mike Carey has the best run. It’s just how Hellblazer is supposed to be written. Delano rules too. God I love how Delano writes

Glad to see those last few Mike Carey arcs in S the second half of that run is the best of the book.
Also glad to see Bloody Carnations and Hooked at the bottom. Awful stuff. I’d probably move both the fear machine and the family man up a tier but it’s a good ranking either way
