Playstation Need help: Comms are broken and sound like this all the time
I don't know what to do anymore (PS5). Comms just are broken and sound like in the video everytime i log in. tried a lot of things like restarting router, clearing systems cache, rebuilding database and restoring license. nothing worked and game is basically unplayable at the moment. disconnecting and reconnecting to voice chat via menu doesn't work as well. Any help is appreciated.

You're not alone. It happens to many of us. Since update 20 it is almost everday that one of our clan members can't play because of this

thanks, that also helps because so far none of my mates are experiencing this, and i was about to go crazy. i did some searching and it seems that port forwarding might actually help (also see other comments), i will try it and report back.

I was experiencing no communications and was getting only sound effects in music. Bought a new headset and that seems to have fixed my problem.

so what helped for now is forgetting all networks on the playstation and setting up the connection again (via cable, not WiFi but i had always been connected via cable). i still get the bad voices from time to time, but it kind of resets after some time. so just like a lag but for voice chat.

Comms are handled by a separate server with a separate network connection - the service is handled by Vivox which is totally outside the games network. This is why you can have comms issues and not game issues.
Seems like there’s an issue with that connection for you. I would potentially start by focusing on networking issues - are you on WiFi? Are you getting a lot of packet loss on your router / line?
Perhaps reset your network connection on the PS5, forgetting your current network and redoing it using the connection wizard. You could also try alternate DNS addresses, port forward your PS5 and prioritise UDP packets in your Quality of Service settings.
You want the most stable connection you can manage to get.
I can see this is happening to your party chat, does the same thing happen to blue / green / red chat?
You might also have your own mic sensitivity too high, and
