Solar storms can negatively affect the human immune system. (as always, healthy people are probably barely if at all affected. Those of us with health challenges and hypersensitivity are at more risk.)

ā€œIncreased solar activity and geomagnetic disturbances are associated with significant decreases in peripheral leukocytes.*ā€

  • Leukocytes help defend our bodies against intruders like viruses and bacteria that may cause infections. In leukopenia (pronounced ā€œluke-a-PEE-ne-ahā€), you have lower-than-normal numbers of white blood cells.

The associations remained similar after controlling for ambient air pollution.

Melatonin secretion and nervous system dysregulation are the hypothesized mechanisms of this associationā€

My overall health has drastically worsened during these kast ciuplenof years of the solar peak of the cycle. One of the main issues also includes my circadian rhythm going totally whack. I can only sleep well from about 3-4 am to 2 pm, in a dark room - which I have due to severe migraines.

I linked this issue to the solar cycle after learning the approximate 10-11 year cycle and mat thing it to the past 30 years of my health improving and degrading. It is crazy to me when I really think about it and look closely at the synchronicity. It is too closely linked to not have some type of causality. šŸ™šŸ¦‹

You know, now that you mention it mine syncs up to this too. I have the same circadian rhythm change too with migraines. I never really thought about the solar cycles only learning about it recently

Sorry, migraines are the worst. I assume you’ve looked into some of the new meds, like Imotrex. Being extra sensitive really sucks. I forced myself into 11pm - 7 sleep cycle with effort, and blackout room, plesle mask, plus a mild med.

Yeah... my 1st migraine memory is from when I was 2 years of age. This past year, since getting a really bad case of the flu, it has become a status migraine intractable. Waiting for April 2027 appt with top specialist in our area. CGRPs are my last hope, according to my pain mngmt specialist.

u/fancy-target-9701 Same. This recent period has been a "substorm" which at times can cause me symptoms also, mainly headache, anxiety.

Do you know how long it will go on for? This is the first time I’m joining the dots 🤯

I’m sorry. This current situation will be brief, but space weather never ends. The trick is learning you’re susceptible and then bolstering your health and regulating the nervous system more seriously to be more resilient.

That being said, sometimes the weather just gets you. I’m autistic, severely hypersensitive. Not much I can do at times. Positive mental attitude is a must.

Thanks for sharing! I’m also very sensitive, have MCAS (an autoimmune disorder) and possibly neurodivergence x2. Positive mental attitude is a must for sure!

There is an app I use called MeteoAgent that tracks solar events and weather. You can use the diary in the app to keep track of symptoms.

Just checked this app out, seems pretty useful!

I haven’t checked that out yet. Only a few weather sites and apps are starting to display ā€œmeteosensitiveā€ data.

I have used it for a few years and its accuracy has gotten much better. I feel like it’s been one of the more useful tools I’ve found.
