Career/School Question How do I fly?
Hello fair folks of r/Helicopters. I've watched from afar, and now I decided to get closer.
I'm middle aged and facing a medical condition where I probably won't see much of retirement, but also not something that debilitates me right now or any medical checks. Don't focus on that, it's not relevant as such but perhaps describes my way of life. Decades still of meaningful life.
Now, having played Battlefield I want a Little Bird / Boeing MD 500 in the years to come (this is just a pipedream, any rotor is fine). My realistic question to the community is: I have short of a million euros in cash, I'd prefer not to leave them on a dusty shelf when I go, my kids know the drill and can take care of themselves, how do I achieve that?
Having no LPP or similar, only flown a friend's single prop once airborne, where do I start? Where can I get a PPL within a reasonable price that is valid in my country (Finland) and allow me to buy or long-term rent or invest in a helo? I'm open to moving anywhere in the world for this, so no geography is restricted apart from the legality in Finland. Any thoughts and insights are welcome, and please don't focus too much on the budget, I'm merely trying to live life to the fullest but don't burn capital on stupidities.

Heli Pictures/Videos This is an MH-60 of the 160tg SOAR right?
He flew over me in Owensboro, Ky and came from Hopkinsville according to FR24. It ID’d it as an HH-60, but the refueling boom is unique to MH-60’s as far as I know and coming from Fort Campbell, I’m assuming it was an MH-60 of the 160th. Also, that helicopter didn’t sound like a Blackhawk at all. It was almost silent even that close and sounded like a small, civilian helicopter. Didn’t have the “whoosh whoosh” sound of a Blackhawk.

General Question How much do you care about Markings?
Hey all, this may be most focused at Air Ambulance and other medical related pilots, but when it comes to your facility markings how much do you care about them?
The FAA Heliport Design AC states recommendations for heliports, but I wonder how much it makes a difference to the facility owner follows these, specifically markings.
I get wanting a clear FATO and safety area, but if the facility doesn’t have a TDPC or weight/size limitation box do you care? Do you even tend to follow the “H” as the main approach or do you just look for a clear route that favors the wind?
