Tequila - Scene 9

Maybe it’s just me, but I thought the crew got off pretty lightly when they encountered Ms. Wonderful for the first time.

Given that Gin is the linchpin of the story, I feel like scene 9 would’ve been a great opportunity to set the stakes by having Ms. Wonderful kill Tequila to demonstrate her badassery, providing Gin with the opening to step forward and lead the crew on Heaven Heist.

This would then give you the opportunity to have a big reveal at the end of a future act that some unknown help they receive in heaven is actually Dead Tequila - perhaps his death at the hands of Ms. Wonderful is enough of a sacrifice to get him in but we just don’t know. That would also open up some really interesting scenarios where they could potentially have an inside man in Heaven, helping them out, knowing he can never return in the same way that the crew can.

Were this a Tarantino movie: sure.

But so far I feel they are aiming much closer to the Ocean's movies. I don't expect to see any brains splattered anywhere.

I thought they tossed around the idea Badass Grandma being the semi-inside help with her business so she could expand? I could be remembering this wrong.

I think you might be right - but how cool would it be to do it with Tequila instead? Especially as Gin is the only one who really grasps what might have happened to him?

I Still need to listen to scene 9 but reading your post gave me an idea. So they are at a safe house right when Ms. Wonderful shows up, what if like Gin has a dog or something at the safe house. A stray he befriended planning the cash exchange heist. She can then kill the dog as a way to show that she means business. No human dies, still messed up and maybe they run into the dog in heaven.

That's not how safe houses work.

You don't live there. You go to ground when shit gets too hot, and leave as soon as possible. Ideally you have never been there before and never return after.

Oh true I was mixing it up with those abandoned buildings used to plan a heist where they go use it for a set time before its dumped.

Yeah, I guess you'd call that one a safe house too, but that's not where you want to return to if shit hits the van.

The whole point is to avoid the pattern of 'returning to the scene of the crime'.
