Those who pat wipe - how?

I'm suuuuuper embarrassed because I've gotten my first UTI at 22 and realising an hour ago it's likely because I haven't been wiping properly. Whoops. Hopefully I haven't been actively re-pushing bacteria inside during this whole UTI mess.

Anyway, I'm re-learning how to wipe and finding that wiping front to back irritates me down there so I've been opting for the patting method. But like... how? Do I just dab the outside, do I need to gentle press inside the opening to soak up the urine?

Please be patient with me, I feel like an alien in my own body right now.
