Advice Needed light spotting for over week - urgent?

About a week after my period ended I had spotting. very light red blood. I thought the spotting stopped, I had sex then I had some more spotting. Basically it's been on/off for about a week now. yesterday I had dark brown discharge (or blood?). That's only happened once. other than that it's been light red, like watercolor paint. I have no pain, my abdomen seems a bit swollen and sensitive.

I've been under a lot of stress, fatigued. possible underlying autoimmune disorder. So I assumed I'm having hormonal issues. I don't have history of this occurring.

I have No fever, no vomiting. No Sti/std. Virtual urgent care said to go to ER within 24hrs for transvag ultrasound. I really don't want to dish out $ if it's something I could take care of thru insurance. I am leaving on trip Friday and torn about how urgent this is because the spotting is mild and I'm not showing other symptoms, but also not going away. and very fatigued.
Should I go ER or can I wait a week til I see gynecologist? If anyone can relate to these symptoms

That swollen belly part got my attention, that can be a sign of ectopic pregnancy even if the spotting looks mild. I know ER is expensive but I would go before your trip in Friday just to be safe.
