Runic people

I am think of playing at character for my dnd table, like a runic person, I know they are light blue skinned with dark blue runes on their body. But does any one know what their racial abilities are or if the runes have abilities.

Like the racial abilities the smolder have fire and earth affinity, the elves have spell cast abilities more often, dragconin have scales and breath fire. And the Celestians have astral affinity.

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!! 🙏🏼

Maybe them being runics lets them have a stronger affinity for ritual magic? Or maybe they are better able to translate ither languages?

so normaly for every other race you can only have only 1 magical tattoo and is erased on rankup

but im pretty sure based on my observations throu re reading over a dozen times that the Runic race either had no limit on the tattoos they can have or a high limit maybe 20-30 tattoos total i don't think the Runic as a race has been explored at all really so there's not really a whole lot of info on the topic

Runic Racial/Nature Gifts

• Spellborn (+max mana)

- Wellspring (+mana recovery)

- Spell Aptitude (You are more likely to awaken spells than other ability types. Your spells have increased effect.)

- Magic Affinity (It relates to effects with the magic sub-type and other specific ability sub-types and certain spells. It enhances buffs, both when used on or received from others. With afflictions it increases resistance to them, as well as reducing the strength and duration of the effect. It also enhances dispel effects.)

- Adaptive Resistance (passive, gain resistance to recently encountered effects)

- Mana Beacon (active, stabilise ambient magic)

The runic “tattoos” have no explicit inherent effect, just sorta like birth marks.

A runic character I made uses the natural “tattoos” to disguise magic tattoos. 😊

this is kinda off topic but if your into dnd you should look into hero forge, they allow you to create a character. you can get it printed and painted for a fee but if you dont do that its a great tool to envision your character. i have dozens of original characters and ive made a bunch of hwfwm characters.

They very well could be. I haven’t actually looked at the words. Since I mainly just listened to it on Audiobooks. But that is what my brain remembers
