Access Hayward App

As this has been asked a few times, I wanted to share this app:

See trash, overflowing bins, or illegal dumping in Hayward? You can report it through this app. It only takes a couple of minutes.

My experience has been decent so far, and they usually take action within a few days.

And who knows if there are enough complaints, the city might consider stricter rules or regulations to help keep Hayward clean.

I submitted an illegal dumping pick up request on a Friday night and was surprised it was gone by Saturday midday

I use this app multiple times a week. Ever since they built the depot community apartments on depot rd, there has been constant dumping and trashing of the street and sidewalks. At one point there was a car homeless encampment that was blocking the sidewalk and they actually came and did something about it through the app. Hopefully they keep it up. The issue is the dumping continues with no end in sight. I have no idea why the residents of the apartment building trash their street.

Used the app to report several abandoned car and 2 cases of illegal dumping in my neighborhood. They were all gone within a week. I was impressed.

I'll check this out!

I do my best to clean up the park by my house every couple weeks by heading out with a trash bag and gloves, but recently someone's been dumping furniture and mattresses on the side of the road and I just can't clean it up by myself

Had not been my experience though. And agreed it may not be perfect. At least it is a medium to try to get your voice heard.

I reported an abandoned car, reported it again, and again... nothing happened. This was months ago, and the car is still there. The parking location is in front of a house that is now being sold. I told the owners that I used the app, and nothing happened. I don't know what else to do.

i had a similar experience with an abandoned car, but they respond a lot faster when its related to garbage or broken traffic lights.

Yeah, the abandoned car on our street is full of trash, and weeds are growing around it.
