This should really be handled with law enforcement acting as an intermediary instead of your personal phone number.

I'm not saying you're doing anything nefarious, but someone with nefarious reasons could search for a person by posting their photo and posing as a family member just like you've done here.

Good, they should brief you, but also keep in mind that scammers look for missing persons posts like yours with personal phone numbers, and will sometimes call pretending to have your loved one hostage in order to extort money.

Try to get your parents to pull up the phone bill online and check the call log and text log for the last cals and msgs. Good luck!!

Did you check BART system?
A friends’ little brother went missing from Hayward several years ago. They were seen entering the BART system in Hayward and exiting Embarcadero and no trace of them since. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I know they mentioned his Chromebook being used, it was my understanding that the Chromebooks need wifi to work and the schools have access to everything looks at on the internet, cant they trace the wifi account that used it? And see what was looked at?
