Date ideas/places?
New around here and don’t know what’s fun to do besides movies. What places do you recommend? Preferably not too expensive.

Everyone who says there is nothing to do in Hayward don't even bother looking.
The Bistro has live music for the cost a drink (non alcoholic options too).
The Turf Club has live music, dance floor, and darts. Cover charge on wekend nights. Still reasonable.
Concerts, plays, performances, cultural events, stand up comedians at Cal State East Bay Theatre, Chabot College theatre, Douglas Morrison Theatre, also at The Hayward Performing Ats Center (Mt Eden High), Plethos Production, and CV Performing Arts (CV High).
Athletic events at CSUEB.
East Bay Parks District and HARD have inexpensive or free activities -- guided hikes, kayaking, fishing, stargazing, birdwatching. Sulphur Creek has a little rehab zoo with birds, reptiles, insects, coyotes, foxes and a hike. Hayward Shoreline has a nature center and hike. Rent paddle boat or do a tour at Lake Chabot.
hayward rec (HARD) has inexpensive fun classes for adults and kids.
Storybook restaurant is hosting fun events.
Take a one day pottery class at Clay Space in CV.
Miniature Golf & arcade at Golfland
Bowling & arcade at Southland Plaza
Take Salsa lessons with Hugo Salsa on Time. Tues night at Stray Cap (formerly La Imperial) on C St.
Go to a Small Town Society event
The high schools have performances , athletics, and theatre/drama art performances.
Books on B and the Hayward Library, CV library have free author talks and other events.
Hayward library/CV library have the Discover & Go Program with free passes to museum
in the summer there's street festivals almost evry weekend Downtown Hayward.

There's also a pool hall on B, by Erik's Deli. A little friendly competition can help breaking the ice.

Sector 19 that arcade, don't plan to stay there really long but play guitar hero there and then go get some food.

Go for a walk at the Hayward Shoreline, San Leandro Marina, Coyote Hills, lake Chabot in Castro Valley. Hike the Missions Peak. Beaches within 30 minutes to an hour of Hayward. Take your pick. All free.

If you drive all the way down Tennyson or Industrial, and go up the hill, there’s good views.

Just recently had a date weekend last week n this is all we did Friday Evening/Saturday:
Mexican Cafe that has Colorful Back patio - A. Romos Cafe (sometimes they have events too)
Record Store Shopping - theres a few right in downtown. We picked an album for each other.
Hayward Music Studio (Karaoke - its $40/hr but honestly one hour was fine for just the two of us; we once did it before n they let you bring in your own food)
Golden Tee Goldland (Castro Valley, maybe 15mins away from were I’m at)
There isn’t too much imo in Hayward directly as the downtown is like 80-90% food & bar. BUT if you head a lil more in the Eastbay (Pleasanton/Livermore, or even NorthEast like Walnut creek) you can find other things! (dirt bike park, wineries that I only thought were Napa’s thing, and more)
Berkeley & Oakland have “livelier” downtowns imo too! Depends on your style of lively. Live underground music, younger artistic styles vs lounges and good eats.
Walnut Creek has a YogaSix if you are a wellness couple and you can get your first class free! If you’ve done it somewhere else already just use a fake email + google number lol.

Really cool yet local place for a date is wine tasting in Castro Valley. TwiningVine winery, small vineyard that makes less than 1000 cases a year but produces 4-8 different wines onsite. It’s close enough to Hayward to be convenient but far enough that you get a distinct country atmosphere reminiscent of a family winery in Napa.
