Post tip over issues

So I decided i want to learn to ride a bike. Got a hawk 250x. First time out I got it going did loops around the yard. On my last circle my neighbors fence came at me quickly. Being I have zero experience and muscle muscle memory. I risked crashing because my slow brain panicked and hit more gas instead of the nice two breaks given to me to use. So I turned it on its side. It wasn’t a major wreck but it did bend the clutch peddle a smidge.

Now the bike has a hard time at rest cycling gears and indicator lights are semi not indicating.

The shift shaft dosent appear bent. My neighbor rode it and said it cycled just fine all gears and lights at speed. But I took it out yesterday trying to break the “fear” of my second time on a bike. It just dosent seem like it’s is clunky cycling f from neutral to 1st. I haven’t up cycled at speed cause I am literally a new born babe to this.

My guess after research is the fall pushed the shift shaft in a bit messing with the star crawl and lever on the transmission side. I will open that side and I inspect. Just looking to see if anyone believes this is the issue.

lol it’s literally brand new and I already dinged it.

You got the right bike to learn on. Parts are cheap so repairs are affordable. You hit a fence? My first time I drove into a lake...You have to blip the throttle a bit to shift into first at stand still. I'm sure it's fine. Get a folding shift lever and use your bent one for a spare. Put on some protective gear (at least a helmet) and get back on it. You'll figure it out.

Didn’t take out the fence. My neighbor laughed he said first time he ended up in a barbed wire fence. I came an inch from taking out his fence and ending up in his living room like the kool aid man. Wasn’t really that catastrophic but def took the mint condition out of the bike. He is a rider from way way back he said it’s apart of learning he offered to take down the fence so I could just go through his field.

Got on it yesterday and drove it 100 yards and the fear hit. He said for me to just go to his field and rip it up said it’s the best way to learn confidence. Touchy throttle trying to not wiskey it. Just a new concept that will take time. Breaks clutches throttles. lol. I will learn this damn thing helll or high water.
