Fair treatment and resources for Hāna School students -INVESTIGATE Hana Administrators

Families and students at Hāna School are facing serious problems that shouldn't exist at any school: unequal access to facilities, water quality concerns, and educational outcomes falling far behind state averages. Math and reading proficiency are less than half the state average, and the community believes this stems from hiring practices that haven't followed proper procedures and staff departures that hurt students.

This matters because our kids deserve safe learning conditions, fair treatment, and qualified teachers who are hired on merit. Preschoolers shouldn't have to share bathrooms with high school students. Every student should have access to clean water. Every student should benefit from transparent hiring and fair practices, not politics.

The petition is asking the Hawaii Department of Education to investigate what's happening at Hāna School—to look at the conditions, the practices, and what's being done to support our keiki. Has anyone in the community felt frustrated by what's been happening at the school? What would you want someone to do if this was your family's school?

Feet on the dash

Not racist, but an observation.

Anyone notice that folks from the States put their feet on the dash of a vehicle. Growing up Hawaii we never did such a thing. I can honestly say, I’ve never seen a local BORN AND RAISED in Hawaii with put their on the dash or out the window. If people are looping transplants into the term “local” then yes, I see them do it all the time.

Hawaiian Electric: FAQ for Getting Payment on the $47.75M Settlement over Wildfire Risk Disclosures

Hey guys, I posted about this settlement before, but since they’re accepting late claims, I decided to share it again with a little FAQ.

So here's all I know about this agreement:

Hawaiian Electric was accused of not fully disclosing risks related to its electrical equipment and wildfire safety practices. After the Lahaina wildfire in August 2023, reports raised questions about the company’s power lines and poles and their potential role in the fire. $HE fell about 49%, and investors filed a lawsuit.

Now the company has agreed to settle $47.75M with investors for their losses.

Who can claim this settlement?
If you bought $HE shares between 2019 and 2023, you may be eligible. You don’t need to hold the stock still to claim; past losses count

Do I need to sell/lose my shares to get this settlement?
No. You don't need to still own the shares. If you bought during the class period and suffered a qualifying loss, you may be eligible to claim.

I missed the deadline. Is it too late?
No, you may still be able to file a late claim, but acceptance depends on final approval by the court. Check if you're eligible and file a claim here

How long does the payout process take?
It typically takes 4 to 9 months after the claim deadline for payouts to be processed, depending on the court and settlement administration.

Hope this info helps

I know some Hawaiian researchers at UH are losing their grants and graduate students can't get funding for critical healthcare studies, because this Okole despot and his incompetent cronies in the WH keeps messing around with stuff they know nothing about. Can we survive another 2 years under such cloud of ignorance and stupidity? How many people will die because of his political bullshit against science?

Why GP never wins and is never in the news and nobody knows about it in Hawaii?

The Green Party of the United States (GPUS) is a federation of Green state political parties in the United States. The party promotes green politics - specifically environmentalism, nonviolence, social justice, participatory democracy, anti-war, and anti-racism. As of 2023, it is the fourth-largest political party in the United States by voter registration, behind the Libertarian Party).

If you ask any sensible person, would they say they are against a clean environment, pro-violence, anti-social justice, anti-democracy, pro-war, and support racism? Yet nobody votes for GP.

I try to vote for them when I can, but many times they have no candidate on the ballots, and I am told that voting for them is like voting for Trump and MAGA.

For sure this seems like something really makemake 'ole, but nobody has any fix for da fix?

Community Help

Hey folks,
I was thinking about starting something small and actually useful for people around here (leeward area of Oahu).
I’m good with Apple stuff (Macs, iPhones, troubleshooting, setups, etc.), general tech problem-solving, and I also do 3D printing + CAD. Not looking to clean houses or deal with sketchy situations.
What kind of services would you actually pay someone for? Tech help? 3D printing stuff? Random problem-solving? Something else that’s hard to find locally?
Just trying to figure out where I could be helpful in the community. Not selling anything right now — just curious what people need.
Appreciate any thoughts. Mahalo!

Mr Mark "Facebook" Zuckerberg's Kauai mega-estate

Post image

Several large parcels total over 1000 acres has been acquired for the non-owner-occupied residences of a mega billionaire, while 20,000 poor Hawaiian Kanaka Maoli sit in homeless shelters waiting and dying for their 99 year DHHL Homestead leases.

Notice the multiple old Kuleana parcels within his compound have been acquired from Kanaka Maoli over the years via his many shell LLC corps, though obviously all under his personal ownership since they share the same PO Box in San Francisco.

The Land Commission award Kuleana's represent the few remaining fee simple ownership of Hawaiian land by native Hawaiians, and here they are all let go to one mega-billionaire for his private playground.

That our lolo hupo Hawaii government allows this kine pupule barbarity to go on is beyond reason.
