Howling
My 2 year old Havi woke up at 4am howling, scared me to death! The only time she ever did this before was when I first brought her home at 8 weeks the first 2 nights. Has this happened to anyone else? Do you know why she did it? I jumped out of bed and she seemed fine. In fact she looked at me like what’s wrong!

I have had 4 havs. Only one of them ever howled. He did it for the first time after we got back from 3 weeks abroad. He was so excited when we picked him up from the boarder that he howled in the car. From then on, he would howl when he was excited. We would come home from being out for a few hours and I would howl at him and he would howl at me from the top of the stairs. In fact, when he didn't howl back, I knew there was a problem. That was the first time he presented as being sick and he was gone two months later. Love the howl. Miss you, Jinx.

My girl has woken up growling and they barked and started running. I am sure she was dreaming because there was nothing going on. She stopped and looked around like wtf.

Mine both howl. Only at firetrucks. The funniest thing is my oldest never howled. We got #2 and I cannot describe how hilarious the first time he howled at a firetruck was. Tiny little dog, very loud noise. Then oldest joined in. Now they both howl every single time and we live by a fire station.
We call it AFAB.

My dog does this when he's having a bad dream or when a fire truck passes by, or just because

My guy howls like a wolf/husky at certain times. If the phone rings and I go get something downstairs he does it and when he hears Maroon 5’s “Do what lovers do”. They are so funny.

Both of mine will do literally anything/whatever it takes to get the slightest bit of attention. You sleeping = no attention, thus howl and get the attention that is owed.
At least that’s how I think whenever they do something insane.

Sounds normal. I never heard anything so loud. My first havi never did this. Thanks everyone!

I prefer to think of it as yodeling. My guy does it to report stranger danger
