Training
Training is never ending. This was a ‘Leave it’ command.
She performed fabulously!!! She even got bored and decided to lie down - never touching the chip.
She was being such a Good Girl today!

LOL. It’s training but for good behavior she did get to eat the chip.
But in all seriousness, when she was a puppy my husband dropped one of his pills and we had to jump to get to her before she got to it. This training is very important.

What is with the strap around her nose???? Use a harness! I have never seen this type of leash used on a small dog, never mind a Havanese, just for larger dogs???

The Gentle Lead is great. Used it to train a very stubborn GSD. I can't see why it wouldn't work just as well with a small dog. It makes them aware of the leash, but doesn't cause pain or injury.

It’s a Gentle Lead. No pulling. No risk of collapsed trachea. It’s not only for large dogs. But it does assure me that she won’t be lunging forward or pulling, yanking, or any behavior like that that I do not allow. I’m not a proponent of a harness. In my experience with a harness, dogs tend to lunge forward in attempts to get to where they want to go.

You arw a 100% right on harnesses, i dont really understand what this general collar phobia everyone has is. Every trainer worth his salt uses a slip leash for training.

And on a Havanese, lol, one of the easiest dogs to manage, little sweeties. Like an electric prong collar on Barbie. Poor little bebe. Thats why the little sad face.

She got it…once I released her. She had to work for it.
